Bought this TV at Currys 3 weeks ago for £1300 so heat added. Just a point to note for any prospective buyers though - this TV does not handle SD very well at all. I have been playing with the settings since I bought it and no matter what, all standard definition feeds look blurry and washed out compared to my 8 year old Philips. 4k feeds are amazing though.

Haven't checked your link but RTINGs is the US site - the KS8000 is the model down in the UK (KS7000). That being said, the panels for both models are VERY similar. I've heard mixed reviews about SD content but HD (1080p) seems like it's done well, which is good enough for me.

Was looking at this for £1299 two weeks ago, they just had a code that brought it down to £1249 last week (£50 off code); I'm holding out until Friday to see if I can get this a little cheaper.

When does this code expire? Thursday 24th?

Thanks - I think I read they will price match up to a week after purchase so will call them and see if they will price-match their own Black Friday deals (if there is one) or that of JL/Currys, if it appears. If so, stress avoided for Friday!

Yup, today's the last day. Really can't decide whether to bite now or wait till Friday...

Yep they have this on their site, would be good to see if they will refund if other retailers reduce price on black Friday

I saw this before you posted on their price match page: "Price Beat is even valid for 7 days after purchase, so if you've seen a cheaper price, let us know, and we'll happily beat that price by up to £100!"

So I'll check both apply and then will see if I can collect tonight. I might keep the TV in the box until Friday (I can't really fiddle with it until the weekend anyway) just in case the classic "BF model numbers now have 6 extra characters at the end, so you can never price match" scenario comes up...

Just bought the 49KS7500 (model down, but curved screen which suits my room better) for £920 from Currys, possibly £850 if unlikely cashback goes through. I was really temped by the 8000 though as it's slightly higher spec - mostly to do with the way it handles light bleed / bloom.

One thing I'd say is that for this week, order online as you've got the falback of distance selling if anything amazing happens on Black Friday.

The other tip I'd strongly add is checking your employer to see if they offer any discount on vouchers. My wife's employer gave 8% off Curry's instant digital vouchers so I used the £100 off from Curry's code and then paid the rest using 8% discounted vouchers to make the TV £920 instead of £1099 - and also tried to go via Quidco just in-case...

I think this seems to be prob for all 4K TV's from the research i've done.
I'm looking for a new TV, but as I still watch SD channels fairly often and still use DVD's, i'm tempted to just buy a 1080p FHD set that will play SD better than a UHD set will.
Or wait for Oled to come down in price and more sizes of Oled to become available.

Damn these KS7000/KS8000 are making decisions hard! Was ready to purchase in store at Currys yesterday but seeing as their reduced price is valid until (and including) Black Friday I am going to wait.

They did state that they will price match any of their own offers within 7 days of purchase but weren't so sure about other retailers (though website states they will).

Decisions........

does anyone know if the sound bar offers are worth it?

Spoke to someone at Richer Sounds, they stated that if it does go cheaper during Black Friday with them or at other retailers then they will refund the difference.

Have ordered for collection

read the motion blur on this is horrid

What's funny is there are a lot of comments on the blur for the ks7000 but next to none for the ks8000. Apparently the panels are not quite the same - there appears to be (slightly) better black uniformity and motion processing in the better model.

It's one of the first things I'll be looking for, after dialling-down the cartoon colours...

Edit: Just got through to RS and reserved the last KS8000 to collect tonight. Code does expire today; as this is one of the higher-end models the advisor doesn't expect it to be cheaper than this on BF (since it'll go back up to £1299 before being reduced) but their 7-day price promise covers their and competitor price drops. Their price is going to be updated in real-time throughout the night/morning as their staff match competitor offers, so just take a screenshot of their price, even if it goes OOS on their site, and then call them up/go in-store and they'll sort out your refund.

When you go to the checkout there is a line of text with something along the lines of "i have a promotional code" - click that and it will let you enter the code (TV100)

Will they only price match their own price on Black Friday?
