I do love this unit however I'm curious how important speed is over capacity for general users? If it was semi-permanent storage on a laptop then speed is critical. However, in my personal use case scenario, once I've gone through the pain of storing (mainly video files) on a USB stick to plug it behind the TV I very rarely find myself needing to often write/re-write hundreds of gigabytes. Personally I'd prefer to take a bit of a hit on the speed to have higher capacity for the same price. I am definitely voting hot on this deal though (edited)

Its important when you quickly want to copy a few GB of movies or something before you have to leave in 30 minutes.
Then its good you don't need to wait forever for a slow drive.

Probably poor write speeds, one comment "around 22MB/s sustsined write speed".

Ordered. Another one to add to the random USB collection. Found about 5 with PlayStation firmware on. Obviously, it's not the version I wanted on any of them though.
