This is made for certain Samsung phones. Other phones won't work in it. The cheap ones are terrible. I've had about 5 sets and none come close to this.

Thats what wanna know lol ... I have 3 cheap ones and they seem blurry and don't fit right ... don't wanna spend 60 for the same experience

Been holding out for one from EE for £44 for a while, but might have to bite at this!

World of difference between this and the cheap ones....

well I have a Samsung phone, cheaper than ps4 vr , the ten pound one was blurry and line in middle, plus i couldn't find apps

Shame it's not the one that fits the Note 8.

Not a bad price with the controller as well mind.

This one on sale is the latest one.
I have been using it with my Note 8.
I purchased mine new/sealed from ebay for £52 delivered

I think the Oculus Go will force the price of these right down as we go into next year. I might cave in on a £40 Black Friday deal though.

Will this work with the Samsung S8 plus?

According to the description on CPW it will... But I thought I read somewhere that it wouldn't... Hoping to get confirmation from anyone who's had used both together.

Can you watch BT sport on this?

Anything is possible.

Tight fit but in a fashion yes.

I think they are clearing out stock of these as Samsung are bringing out yet another update to make it a better fit for the Note 8. By the time Black Friday comes the old stock may be all gone.

The note 8version is already out and has been for a bit now.

I've had a few cheap ones like the Google Cardboard and just received a free Gear VR with my new phone. I was going to sell it but thought I'd have a quick look to see how much better than the cheap ones it was. I was truely in shock! It is so clear and comfortable to wear in comparison. You can control the phone easily with the touch pad on the side. Thrown all my cheap ones away and kept this. I enjoyed the cheap ones but they give a false impression of where this technology is at. Knowing what I know now, I'd happily pay £100 for one of these so £60 is an absolute steal.

I have the VR 2017, using it with an S8 Plus and as Pspvita has already pointed out it is a bit of a tight fit, but it's even worse if you have a tempered glass screen protector. You have to push it in with some force, worryingly so that you might feel like you're gunna snap your S8 Plus.

It's the USB C connector adapter which is the problem and if only they made the mouth of the adapter a little higher in height then the fit would be better. Most the time I have to take off the USB C connector adapter from the VR headset, sandwich the S8 Plus charging port into the adapter then with careful strength slot the phone + adapter into the headset. To be able to get this in and then have the S8 Plus then go into VR mode straight after takes some doing.

Regarding OP's question of price - that's a deal price for headset and remote together. I brought both separately, the headset for £35 and the remote for £26.24 around beginning and mid-September to put it in perspective so heat from me!

Feels like we've established they're good headsets. . .and I appreciate this is subjective, but is there anything decent that you can use it for, that's worth the £60? Good games/experiences . . . or is it just a gimmick?

Good price but better to wait a bit longer for un-tethered oculus or vive offerings next year which will certainly be better expensive.

Saying that its cheap and a good entry into VR and you could always sell it when done with it

I got mine from fasttech for £30 so it felt like a throwaway purchase which helped, but they're very impressive. Used mine with my s6 edge and screen is still quite blurry for movies Etc. (will be better on s8 and onwards).

I've not used mine in months which probably answers your question. Back then there was no big thing to keep me using it, I'd done all the experiences. Should probably dust it off again.

What I will say is that it's amazing to take to a party, and some of the unsettling/horror experiences are truly terrifying due to the immersion.

Also the cinema mode is very decent where you're sitting in a cinema and watching movies stored on your phone. Netflix does this too. My issue was the screen was not quite sharp enough, however this should be improved with the higher PPI of the S8 / Note 8.

At £60 I'd say it's worth a punt. If you don't like it / don't use it then stick it on ebay and the experience will have cost you £10-20 so not a huge deal.

Edit: goes without saying that black friday is coming up and also ebay will be awash with these over the xmas period!

Great price, I would have upgraded my 2016 version if I didn't recently buy a controller from US Amazon that posted on here..

Thanks - Ordered.

Great deal indeed! Ordered.

Got mine for £39 on a Samsung email deal recently. Interesting, but probably won't get used much.
Good quality.
S7 Edge fits fine.
Worth experiencing minecraft vr! Lol

We use mine with the newer xbox one Bluetooth controller and works very well.

S7 Edge gets hot and system advises you to disconnect and allow to cool.

This Samsung one is miles better. All the others have been blurry with me too. The Samsung one is so immersive.

Yes it does work. This comes with a USB C adapter which is more compact than the one that was available for the Note 7, and therefore it allows the S8+ to fit nicely.

They mispriced the Note 8 version to £59.99 for a while but when I ordered 2 (one after the first order) both turned up as the S8 version. Still trying to get it sorted.

It's not compatible. It even says in the link you posted. Samsung advise not fitting the Note 8 into the old 2017 Gear VR. If you want to try fitting in an £800+ device into something the manufacture says isn't compatible that's up to you.

Have they even sold the 2017 model separately from the controller? Sounds like you have the 2016 model.

Can anyone recommend one to fit a iPhone 5s that's a good quality one less than 50 quid ?

Just ordered one, thx. May only need it for the exiting stuff...

someone can tell me if they can be used for movies please?
i have a cheap one already but the problem is if i put the headset on i see a very small virtual screen for movie with blackness around it and worst part I need to sit upright because if I lie on my back I cannot see the screen because if u imaginge ur in a cinema it would be the equivalent of looking at the ceiling.
is there a way to push the virtual screen onto that ceiling? and will i be able to do so with this product?

Is anyone noticing any delays in recieving order confirmation for this? Ordered just after 9am and still have nothing as of yet.
