Don't be put off by the 1200rpm spin. we used to have a 1400 spin hotpoint before we bought our 1200 spin bosch & the o/h says that the clothes come out drier in the bosch.
My reasoning behind this theory is that samsung & bosch is probably about the same quality, the sammy might even be better?

According to comet it's frost free? which is a must. See comet pic of this.

Frost free is the best addition to modern washing machines. Stuff dries so quickly.

Ha ha, When i put this on earlier comet had put the wrong badge on it, it now says web exclusive, but at 2am it had frost free.
Funny web exclusive when Best Buy sell the same machine at the same price.
Two year warranty at comet, Can't see anything about the warranty at best buy. So it's your choice 6% off or 2 years warranty.

You will probably find the 2 years is a manufactures warranty not Comet

Are these Samsung's Direct Drive?

Are these Samsung's Direct Drive?

I thought that it was only LG that did direct drive WM's, I may be wrong.

Anyway, I have had a a Samsung WM for over 6 years, no problems at all.
Good price!

I'm not sure this is the manufacturers warranty as it mentions the 'extra care' service plan which seems to be a specific comet plan.

Heat added! Thanks for the awesome find!
We have a Samsung machine and it is excellent. Can't remember what we paid but it was certainly more.

Seems you are right. LG & Daewoo appear to be the only manufacturers who offer Direct drive machines. I remember walking pass a Daewoo machine and thinking everyone must be selling direct drive machines these days if Daewoo are offering it!
Just rang Best Buy and the machine has a 1 years manufactures warranty
Cheap but not necesarily nasty - and if a geuine 2 year P&L manufacturers warranty then good value

Our Siemens is pnly 1200 spin and clothes come out reasonably damp . Spin speed is just one of those manufacturers speak trying to differentiate their machines

Well we have a 1600 spin Panasonic washing machine and washing comes out of it almost moisture free.
I don't believe the spin specs mean anything in the real world. We recently brought a cheapy Indesit machine for a rented property and it was rated at only 1000rpm. When we tested it the clothes came out dryer than our 1600rpm Bosch machine which cost almost three times as much!
My experience is that spin speeds often seem to decrease with age. Perhaps it's understandble when you think of it as being mechanical and if a car didn't get serviced then you wouldn't expect it to run at optimal speed either.

The higher the spin speed the more creased the clothes end up IMX.

Maybe true....more important however is the drum size and the amount of washing put in it - 6kg sounds fairly small.

Or is that for Dryers ?

ho hum. I`ll get me coat.

Just checked with my local Comet on this. The 2 year manufacturer's guarantee is covered by Comet who buy the guarantee from the manufacturer and cover it on their behalf. This apparently is how they get a better buy-in price from Samsung or indeed any manufacturer.

Anyway heat added, for the price you'd be normally looking at a crappy brand like Beko or Haier, so £229 for a Samsung with 2 year guarantee is good in my books, Getting ours delivered Monday.
