Spec is as follows:
Combining energy saving technology with sleek looks, the shiny white Samsung WF1704WSE2 Ecobubble™ Washing Machine delivers a laundry appliance to make your life easier.

The intelligent bubble

Thanks to Samsungs ecobubble™ technology, the Samsung WF1704-WSE2 scores a phenomenal A+++ score for energy efficiency, saving up to 70% energy compared to a lesser scoring washing machine.

Evenly distributing the detergent throughout the wash, the Eco Bubble provides deeper and quicker fabric penetration for a high performance wash.

Designer drum

The 7 kg diamond drum design of the Samsung WF1704 Ecobubble protects your fabrics while it washes them, and the ceramic coating of the heating element is there to increase the washing machine's longevity.

Programmes to suit your requirements

To make sure you get perfectly laundered clothes after each use, the Samsung WF 1704WSE2 ecobubble™ Washing Machine has 14 wash programmes to choose from.

The Baby Care programme takes into consideration sensitive skin, and minimizes detergent residue in fabric. You have the choice of Cotton, Denim, Bedding and Darks, to suit your wash load.

Tested by the Woolmark company, the Samsung WF-1704W has passed for machine washable wool products, this guarantees washing performance and fabric care.

Keep your hands out of the wash, with the hand washing programme for those fabrics that need the care of hand washing.

The built-in child lock will defy even the most determined of little people, and the 15 minute quick wash with 1400 rpm spin speed, will help keep those same little people clothed on days of many changes.

The Samsung WF1704WSE2 ecobubble™ Washing Machine really does take the strain out of washing.

LOL, just got a new washing machine today......there were hundreds to choose from, this one looks good with the 5 years warranty.

Another option is the Panasonic, it costs more, but has a bigger load capacity 8 kg and a larger motor 1600rpm

Panasonic Currys

there is another one in John Lewis, this has a 10kg capacity and a 1400rpm motor

Panasonic J Lewis

Like I said there are hundreds to choose from, we wanted something simple and cheap and I ended up buying an Indesit for £245 yesterday, the price has gone upto £259 but it is still a lot cheaper than the £369 Currys were selling it for

Indesit Co-op

I would advise you to take a look at the Which website, they have a one month trail membership for £1 (quidco of £1.50, so it wont cost you anything, just remember to cancel before the end of the month). They have reviewed lots of washing machines and it will give you a good idea of what to look for.
I was looking at the 8kg one of these due to the 5 year warranty giving piece of mind, however I have since foudn out they do not have their own engineers and they give warranty work to non samsung experienced engineers i believe it goes through electrolux and have seen some bad reviews about the service. So I am now looking at a Gorenje, AEG or Siemens all of which have 5yr guarantees with a 3 day call out with their own engineers. Also this was £324 in my local on clearance.
I got an end of line Zanussi ZWH6160P from Currys last week for £225 plus a £50 voucher. I've posted it on HotUKdeals so if your interested it might be worthwhile checking out. No 5 year warranty but it's half the price. A++ rated with 1600 spin spin and 7kg load capacity.
