Im looking for a deal on washing machines and came across this. Think I will go for it unless someone can tell me a better machine for the price!

Capacity: 7 kg
Spin speed: 1400 rpm
Quick Wash
Daily wash time: 110 minutes

Combining energy saving technology with sleek looks, the shiny white Samsung WF1704WSE2 Ecobubble™ Washing Machine delivers a laundry appliance to make your life easier.

The intelligent bubble

Thanks to Samsungs ecobubble™ technology, the Samsung WF1704-WSE2 scores a phenomenal A+++ score for energy efficiency, saving up to 70% energy compared to a lesser scoring washing machine.

Evenly distributing the detergent throughout the wash, the Eco Bubble provides deeper and quicker fabric penetration for a high performance wash.

Designer drum

The 7 kg diamond drum design of the Samsung WF1704 Ecobubble protects your fabrics while it washes them, and the ceramic coating of the heating element is there to increase the washing machine's longevity.

Programmes to suit your requirements

To make sure you get perfectly laundered clothes after each use, the Samsung WF 1704WSE2 ecobubble™ Washing Machine has 14 wash programmes to choose from.

The Baby Care programme takes into consideration sensitive skin, and minimizes detergent residue in fabric. You have the choice of Cotton, Denim, Bedding and Darks, to suit your wash load.

Tested by the Woolmark company, the Samsung WF-1704W has passed for machine washable wool products, this guarantees washing performance and fabric care.

Keep your hands out of the wash, with the hand washing programme for those fabrics that need the care of hand washing.

The built-in child lock will defy even the most determined of little people, and the 15 minute quick wash with 1400 rpm spin speed, will help keep those same little people clothed on days of many changes.

The Samsung WF1704WSE2 ecobubble™ Washing Machine really does take the strain out of washing.

Great machine, hot price

Not sure which model I have but check bargain crazy as I got my one got way cheaper than anywhere from there. Confirmed great machines.

Excellent price taking the guarantee into account........HOT

OP - it's a 5 year "guarantee", not warranty - guarantees give you much more protection than warranties. Heat just for that!

Fair enough, but I was going by the link the OP sent which goes to the Currys page which clearly says (albeit now it seems incorrectly) that this item has a 5 year guarantee... I guess it's Currys that need to get their facts right.

Hi yep bargain crazy keep charging their stock so hit and miss. This us a good deal regardless. Mine has a 10 year guarantee on the direct drive motor too as well as the five year warranty. Just checked I've got the wf0704 and paid 289 delivered and I got a decent tcb kickback too.

I've been looking at DD washing machines recently and it seems that a 10 year life span is at least the norm for DD motors as other manufacturers such as LG offer the same guarantee. Also worth checking out.

This washing machine doesn't utilise VRT technology like the better Samsung models do. This provides a near silent and stable spin cycle.

OMG, so many buttons!

Ordered soon after you had posted this - mine should be delivered tomorrow.
Good timing too as our w/m packed up last week and I've been holding out for a near Xmas deal to pop-up here.
I was originally looking for an LG 1418TD (1400spin, 8Kg, etc. with 10 year warranty on the direct drive motor) - £430 delivered from some online store.
Then I read the recent Which report that gave the Bosch WAQ28461GB excellent overall results and found it for £430 from John Lewis with 2 year guarantee)
Then you posted this - £330 with 5 year warranty included and it's got reasonably good reviews - so a no-brainer really. Thanks.

Ordered it with the shock absorbers and that magnetic limescale remover contraption - see the bundle deals they have further down the item page in Currys. I hope the shock absorbers work as this has slightly higher rated spin noise than the Bosch.

Heat!

I cant see if its a hotdeal as currys seems to be the only place to sell this model

I have a similar model, its great but is very deep, so double check the size of the unit is suitable for your kitchen/space, in my kitchen it sticks out a lot and is unsightly because of this...

Cheers for the info S-man, was contemplating this machine but think I have a 'normal' sized space

I brought this when samsung had the cashback offer,I also had £50 currys voucher. I have the 5year guarantee too. It's a good machine, not too noisy and pretty easy to use.

A little search shows Pixmania sell this model at £364 but there are a few stores that sell the 8kg WF0704W7W for around £350

The Samsung site suggests it may be exclusive to Currys in the UK.

There are a few different specs/features to these 2 models. The WF0704 has quiet drive technology (73db spin against 78db spin) and has a "My cycle" and "option" button opposed to a "wash option" button. Apart from the display panel to house the LED's added to this model.

Yea, typing error 7kg

I've no idea. Appliancesonline give some detailed info and many customer reviews. I do know that LG machines play a little tune at the finish of the wash cycle because they are so quiet!

how much clearance at the back is needed? I have a 60mm deep worktop and wondering if this would stick out by much.

sorry 600MM not as above

Apparently it is 700mm deep

I would be very very wary of purchasing this. This washing machine has a well known design flaw whereby the water inlet valve continuously breaks. Its a solenoid type one which keeps failing and leaves the valve open, continually filling with water.

Samsung warranty is nigh on useless too. We've had to call them out twice within 6 months for the same fault and each time their (subcontracted, and totally uninterested) repairer took two weeks to come out and diagnose the fault, another two weeks to order the part in, and another week to come and fit it.

5 weeks without a washing machine is unacceptable but is their seemingly average repair time. Luckily we could turn on/off the water at the pipe each time we wanted to wash but it is a right pain in the ****.

I would not recommend this at all.

How long have you had this machine and how many times has it broke? And are we talking about this same machine or the samsungs in general since it's likely the water solenoid would be common to all models or at least those similair in design.

Could watch what they do, then just do it yourself:
amazon.co.uk/220…YBU

we've had no issues with the 0704 - nice quiet machine, controls are a bit confusing with all the LEDs showing the options (but simple enough once you know what you're doing and stick to just one or two programmes for regular use). Which said that they didn't have enough reviews to include in their ratings but their tests said it had the best wash performance of any machine (or something like that).

Oh, yes it is very chunky and I was surprised at the depth not being 'standard' lucky for me it's in a utility room but I've had to put it at a slight angle so the detergent drawer can open fully (there's a supporting column in the wall just there). A standard machine wouldn't have had that issue.
