I saw this post on the same machine was in the current hot deals so I thought I'd price check and found it slightly cheaper.

I checked JL last night before posting but the JL one has a slightly different model number (1200 vs 1400 spin) otherwise you could have used this deal to get a Price Match from JL as this company have a showroom.

Here - Samsung WF70F5E0W2W EcoBubble 7kg 1200rpm

JL - Samsung WF70F5E0W4W ecobubble™ Washing Machine, 7kg 1400rpm

I don't get it. I posted a 1600 9kg for £290, hardly any interest. This is considerably more expensive for less specs, what gives?

Better according to who?

This review says otherwise -

As it is a sealed unit this required a complete new drum. Was warned by engineer that this would continue to be a problem and the replacement drum failed again after one year. Have now replaced with a better quality machine.Very poor build quality

Always read reviews by people that have had a product for some time, rather than something written less than a month since buying it like most reviews.

Never touch Hotpoint or Indesit. Shockingly bad quality and the 'engineers' are primed to charge you as much as they can

Have had a top-end Hotpoint machine for about 4 years before the bearings went and it cost a bomb to replace (the entire drum had to be replaced as jukkie mentioned). Wish I just got a different make instead as it'll get the same problem again in a few years (according to the engineer that fixed it...).

Indesit Vs Samsung

Indesit being the cheap brand and Samsung one of the best. Seen how much they spend on R&D?

Apple: $3.4 Billion
IBM: $6.3 Billion
Google: $6.7 Billion
Microsoft: $9.8 Billion
Samsung: $41 Billion

I think the 5 year warranty is an attraction here, and of course a good consumer brand.

They have many other revenue earners though, I doubt they spend a fraction of that on their washing machine research. Should I not have got the indesit washing machine then? Are they really that bad?

I think it's quite common to include an 'H' in the term Indesit, after the 'S' and before the 'I'

of course, but bear in mind ppl are more likely to write a review after some time if something goes wrong, it's questionable representation (so always value the warranty given, 5 year parts)

is the warranty just for parts? or does it include labour?

get yourself to a home appliance forum and in particular a washing machine forum

there you will likely find out which brands make good quality merchandise and those who don't

i myself got a bosch washing machine and 2 years ago and it has served me well so far cracking machine

siemens is also reckoned to be a good performer aswell as miele

whatever you do don't buy a sealed drum unit machine

I'm not a washing machine guru but we've got a Samsung washer dryer and so far so good, it appears to be a very well made unit.

Not really comparing eggs to eggs though, is it? Apple has a fairly small product range, all essentially build around the same technology.

Samsung, however, has a far wider product range, everything from TVs and smartphones to vacuum cleaners and washing machines. They even make SHIPS, believe it or not.

Indesit make, ummmm, washing machines and possibly cookers as far as I know.

Samsung Heavy Industries is part of the group but a separate entity. Their R&D figures are not included in this. This is just the Electronics' figure.

Any idea which retailers qualify for the Samsung cashback? cant see to find it anywhere on their website.
