From John Lewis? They may refund you the difference if you give them a call

how good is this model?

Voted hot. Very tempted as was going to buy a cheaper one like Beko, but I think I would have to increase my budget to 300 and fit it n dispose off the old one myself n save off £35

Thanks OP. Just ordered mine cancelled the BEKO machine I ordered from JL and replaced with this. 5 year guarantee excellent ....x

£30 more for a larger drum and on average 1/3 less electricity usage per load 0.61kWh/Cycle LG vs 1.06kWh/Cycle and over a year according to John Lewis pages the LG will save you 1500 litres of water. Handy if you're on a meter!
Plus JL price matched!

I have a samsung, seal broke on mine, fixed it pretty quick and no problems. I wouldn't say Samsung is a brand to avoid, as with all manufacturers they've all had their problems. With this being from JL customers have had replacements with a different brand easily enough.

There are many breakdown stories. The repair service is good too but imagine 2 weeks without a washing in my household?!

The LG at £330 is by far a better deal than this

The LG is £530

you can find guys who will give you tenner for old one and take it for you search thrue google or gumtree

Which? generally review Samsung models positively. No review of this model but seems good for price. 5 yr guarantee seems pretty standard for Samsung these days (which is good as Bosch is now gen down to 2 yrs and many Miele's only have a short warranty too unless you spend > 3 times the price of this).

Hoover's tend to get slated on review sites cf Samsung, LG, Bosch, Miele, AEG

JL will price match the LG which is £344.94 delivered

Be good if people actually added delivery charges so their deals weren't misleading.....

More info is needed on the "guarantees" really. If they don't cover certain things or specify that you have to use their engineers that charge a ridiculous minimum call out charge they seem worthless.

Although buying on credit card should give you some standard guarantee.

We have a Which best buy Hoover washer / dryer that is around 10 years old. Had one £60 repair and drier doesn't work anymore but find that dehumidifier is much better anyway.

Either of these appear to be good value

JL price match for 28 days after you have purchased the item (against them themselves or any non web based supplier). Multiple times as well so I always check their and other prices for 28 days after I have purchased something from them.

According to to Which the Samsung's are quite a bit more efficient than the LG's!?

I also got John Lewis to price match this. It was delivered on Saturday and it seems pretty good.

Although I mentioned the delivery on the form, John Lewis matched it at £329.

Is the warranty parts and labour like the LG linked in this thread?

JL match the LG price but they also include the £14.99 delivery. Still a good deal.

5cms deeper so won't suit my utility room.

We got the graphite version of this just before Xmas for £345 from Co-Op Electrical (although that deal did also come with free connection and free removal of the old machine).

That version is still £369 on JL website, I believe.

Seems like a great machine - does a very good 15 minute quick wash @ 20° - it's quiet too, even on fastest spin (presumably thanks to the Inverter motor).

I'd certainly recommend it.

we have the 11kg version and apart from having the circuit board replaced early on, and a drum issue (Which amazingly was solved over the phone as you can do a calibration mode on it) it's been fab. very reliable, had it for the last 3 years, 8 people in my house so it gets a lot of use. have no problem recommending bit I always by from either ao or currys for the product cover.

If it's from John Lewis, you have 28 days from date of purchase where you can ring up and get the difference refunded. They'll also still accept price match requests with other companies during this period.
