Hi Rayman,

If its CRT then I don't think it will be HD ready.

Regards.

Yes it's HD ready. Not great by all accounts but it really is HD ready.

Hi all,

It is deffo HD ready & the reviews are not too bad....Think of your old PC monitor, that was a CRT & can do resolutions up to 1600x1280 well over HD resolution!

Thanks for the feedback

Yes it's definitely HD Ready and is the newest model number from Samsung: ws32z419d

It's known as the z4 series though: ]http//ww…asp

iv recently purchased the WS32Z409D (without the digital tuner) and am over the moon with it, read some really bad reviews about it after buying it but i just think some people are too hard to please :-D

I stand corrected - it is HD ready and even has a HDMI input. I did not mean that because its a CRT is not, I'm an engineer and know that CRT is fine for that, its just that I didn't think any manufacturer bothered to produce a CRT HD set!! Manufacturers have stopped investing in CRT now.

Thanks for the wake up!

Actually HD CRT TVs have been out in America for years. It's just that they haven't had a reason to sell them in the UK since we only have HD sources after TFT became the norm.

In any case, I too have the 409 and when hooked up to my HD source it is a beautiful picture.

I think this is the one with the problems with the HDMI port. It sends the sound to the wrong speakers so left is right and right is left. I think its this one but not 100%
