Like the sound of this.

Does it take compatible carts?

Is there a paper drawer or do you have to do the flap hanging out thing?
Shame no wifi, I posted a wifi enabled brother laser other day for £40 delivered after cashback, and refill toner only £6 on ebay.
Just a heads up those who are thinking about this.

Yeah I think the front will drop down to reveal a paper in drawer...bot sure about cars but I seen on the last deal it was a yes

I have one of these, and it never lets me down.

I have it plugged into my ASUS RT-AC66U via USB and it works a treat on the home network.

I use Prestige MLT-D111S Cartridges. But any 111S cartridge should work just as well.

No paper drawer though. It's a flap! And you have to watch the print outs. They can fall back in to the paper in-feed.

thanks for the heads up! if you can get the 15% student discount off 60 (before cashback) you can get it for 51 before cashback, 31 after. It says "no further discounts on this item" online, but in store they sometimes just scan the discount barcode and you get it. I'm biting

update: not working online. Will try in store tomorrow

I've owned a couple of SAMSUNG network-enabled laser printers a while back, both were reasonably inexpensive and gave pretty respectable results.

The killer for me was the cost of consumables - OEM toner cartridges cost more than the printer itself and even refilling them myself also needed "chips", even though I bought after-market jobs, they were relatively expensive for what they were.

Things may have changed - but as always - check the cost of consumables - a lot of manufacturers just see their product as generating a "revenue stream" - there's no point in buying a cheap printer if you end up spending three times as much for the first set of "full size" cartridges!

Would be delighted if anyone can confirm this is all in the distant past, and that they've seen sense, but on the other hand, I'm not holding my breath!

As I have a perfectly good colour printer which I can refill for £30/ 2000 sheets I'm not voting either way.
This was on a few months back at 60 p0und odd but with a £20 cashback from hp ...so it worked out the same as this deal without out the hassle of claim money back from hp.
I have one of these which I bought two years ago for £25.

I paid £15 for a non-Samsung replacement cartridge from Cartridge World that will last 1500pp (and it's still going)
(Obviously, the toner you get with the printer doesn't last very long at all)

Prints quickly and accurately - only bothersome thing is the paper loader doesn't seem to take a huge amount of paper, so if you're printing big documents, factor that in. Other than that - for basic letters, pub quizzes and other text, it's miles ahead of my dot matrix.
I’ve used these budget Samsung lasers for over 10 years. OEM cartridges are cheap. With light use the printers always start to malfunction after about 4 years (paper jams mainly) to the point of needing replacement. Probably something that could be user-serviced like fluff in the mechanism somewhere.

Very good buy but for light use only and will not last beyond a few years.

Can you link to the toner please, thank you
I have one of these, and I am amazed how quickly it prints and how clear the results are. That's all excellent. It's also easy to set up on windows 10, which automatically installed the driver. I needed to download the Samsung printer manager in order to see toner levels etc, but that was easy too.

where it falls down is the plastic casing, which is really flimsy. You need to unfold a flap for the paper and some really flimsy bits, that look like they will snap off, to catch the output pages. I don't expect it to last very long before somebody snaps some important bit off.

still it's a cheap printer and it's currently working well.
Thanks

Thank you buddy
I've had the wifi version of this for so long, I'd guess at least 8 years and I'm still on the original toner and It's only the past month been complaining about being out of ink (still prints perfectly though) the wifi is terrible though and constantly forgets the network so getting the non wifi one will porbably save you a lot of frustration.

I have had one for a while now, haven't had any issues with it, purchased 2 x compatible carts through ebay for about £15 i think and replaced the original one about 4 months ago and it has been printing fine, no change in quality or operation. It does have a flap hanging out of the front, but the paper slides in about 3/4 of the way, so doesn't increase the footprint massively

There's a Used - Acceptable on Amazon Warehouse if anyone's willing to gamble! amazon.co.uk/gp/…all38589029-5btHi.jpgI've had mine since it was £24.99 New on HUKD two years ago (that long already?) and it's fantastic. I'd never go back to horrible, temperamental, smeary old inkjets.
