Some lagers from the US leave a bit to be desired but for me, this is amongst the best of them and at a quid a bottle definitely worth a try.

love this beer wish more pubs would sell it on draft

Yeah me too, it's quite different to a lot of the other generic lagers that you'd never be able to pick out of a lineup.

Oh and excuse the misspelling of larger, I'll edit when I get home.

Blue moon its also worth a try. You can see it on the right in the picture.

Does anyone know, the % of these beers?

Thanks for this! I love Samual Adams so I'll going to check my local tomorrow

Just be aware that this is now Sam Adams being brewed under licence in the UK. I had some last week for the first time and it just wasn't the same. Rather disappointing.

Good shout!

Thanks bluemoon and sicwhite.....I guess the Bluemoon is same price?
I will get the Mrs,2 pop,in on her way home from work,to get some of these beers!(_;)

Mr Cool, the Blue Moon was £2.08 which made this look even cheaper. I've yet to see a good deal on Blue Moon.

Prefer Samuel Jackson but this is as good as it gets

Nice if served draught but the bottled is nowhere as good.

But for a pound!

Brooklyn is by far the best u.s beer!! Sam Adams and blue moon brewed in the UK!!!

Great price. Remember this is under £20 for a 24 pack in Costco. If you like it on draft and are in/visiting London checkout Bodeans BBQ bodeansbbq.com (I think). Awesome American BBQ restaurant and serves Sam Adams on draft.

gutted to see it in 330ml bottles and just plain not the same. look out for Sam Adams Noble Pils (sold in Makro)

they have this on Draft in Preston at the newly refurbed pond

Samuel Jackson made painstakingly by me, SAMUEL L JACKSON, ITLL GET YOU DRUNK!

Goose Island is the clear winner of the US pale ales for me. This is a good deal, though.

hot! This and seirra nevada are my two favourite easily available US beers!
Bit worried about the uk brewed one being different tho....

Never tried this, what is it similar to? I normally drink Coors Light or Miller. Love Bud Light but can only be got in the States and occasionally in the South of Ireland but at an expensive price (€10 for 6 bottles).

Both points are good to know, thanks!

its the 355ml bottles actually. The 330ml scan @1.84

We ate there on my mates stag do...good recommendation my friend! Great food and some great characters in there too! Beer is one of few enjoyed on draught in USA!

Nothing like Coors or bud...more almost bitter like quality...bit like shandy bass mixed with john smiths! U might like blue moon as something different though...orange based beer!

As you mentioned Bud Light have you tried Budweiser 66? It's only sold in supermarkets from what I can see but I have a theory it's Bud Light in disguise. Very easy to drink.

Went on a tour of Shepard neame brewery at faversham on Xmas eve, they brew it there on licence, came back with a few bottles extra hops are added so taste more like an ale rather than lager, lovely , just gotta find it on draught in the Brighton area now

And the misspelling of Samuel? Good deal for a pound but not a patch on most British Ales.

Ahhh Samuel Adams. As featured in Family Guy
"I'll have water, please.
I'll have water too, but with lemon, please.
I'll have a Sam Adams, please
It's 9:30 in the morning!'
And don't you have an outstanding DUI?
Yeah, but I gotta get the taste of weed and hooker spit out of my mouth.
...I'll have a Sam Adams as well."

Samuel Adams! Always a good decision

Brewed in KENT!!!!

Same as Ashai.....just UK copies, sadly not as nice as the local stuff.

Alright, alright! Serves me right for trying to post while packing my bags at the checkout (_;)

I did the brewery tour in Boston, and they said it's largely a research brewery - they figure out ways to process water from other areas to get the same composition as the local Boston water, as well as come up with all their seasonal beers, etc. Then what they brew actually only serves the local Boston area. Anything outside of that is brewed on license elsewhere in the states, anyway. So, I doubt this is much different from the bottled Sam Adams in the USA - I've never directly compared the two, but it tastes pretty much how I remember the bottled stuff tasting over there.

Agreed, Goose Island is the daddy, although Sam Adams is top banana as well.

Love the Sheps tour, done it a few times... I know their beers aren't for everyone, but I haven't yet tried one I didn't like...

Just been to my local Sainsburys (Norwich) and it was a bit confusing.

They've got 330ml bottles (brewed in the UK, £1.87 each) on the same shelf as the 355ml ones (imported, £1 each). Different price labels but it's definitely the imported stuff that's reduced.

So better beer, in a bigger bottle for less money. Makes sense, no?

Will be due to sale by dates and clearing of stock.

Result, snap up the imported stuff. Lovely

Well, the bottle I've got is 330ml so I'm confused too. I'm know off down there so I'll check.

Original Poster

Fiftee you are spot on! The ticket says 355ml and there was one left on the shelf, the rest are all 330ml. It is the imported stuff too, "produced and bottled by the Boston Beer Company".

Good deal. I tried this when Tesco had a 3 for 2 deal on world beers. My favourite US offering so far is definitely the Sierra Nevada IPA.

Scanned at £1.84 when I did them through self service, had to take them to the checkouts in the end
