I have been looking for a high endurance memory card for a little while, and this is the best price I have come across. Similar cards seem to be selling for nearly double, and are hard to find from what I can see.

Note - high endurance cards are designed for use in dashcams and similar applications where the card is written to for long periods of time. This can cause non-high endurance cards to fail more quickly, while high endurance cards should be able to withstand continuous writing, and last longer.

Another thing to note, which I only became aware of the other night, is, if you are planning to submit footage to the police, then (at least in my area) you should be prepared to submit the memory card itself, or at least keep it safely aside in case it is requested. You probably won't get the memory card back once submitted. If this is the case for you, then you might be better off buying standard memory cards and saving yourself around £7.

U run a test on it yet?
They will be getting no memory card from me, they will get it on a 3p blank dvd.!!
don't know about 32GB, but bought 64GB from Amazon for £31 recently, works out cheaper

What tests did you run?

What tests did you run?

Hopefully its not the standard Amazon reviewers test...i.e. 'Arrived on time' and 'really nice colour'!
16.99 on amazon, do amazon price match?

Definitely not! Got sd card test pro and results matched card specs. Do you know a better way of testing sd cards?

h2testw is the only sd card tester I would trust to actually work.
I bought a fake Toshiba memory stick from ebay that was advertised as 'genuine & authentic' and paypal paid me straight away after I sent them the results showing the fake capacity, a few days later the seller was no longer registered with ebay after selling quite a few of them.

I used h2test in the past takes forever tho! Sd card app is faster but not as detailed as h2test.
I wonder what the physical differences are in such a tiny piece of plastic and metal to warrant the title endurance.

The memory controller in these cards has error correction, wear leveling and bad block detection. The controller dynamically distributes overwrites across the entire card to avoid failing sectors. If a sector fails the memory controller can ignore it and continue to function with a slightly reduced capacity rather than the entire card failing.

They actually use the same TLC NAND memory as the sandisk ultra but the ultra has no wear leveling or bad block detection which is why they fail so quickly in dash cams.

To explain wear leveling: TLC NAND is supposed to survive 5000 overwrites, however if you have a memory card with 5000 blocks and write one of them 5000 times the entire card will fail. Wear leveling will write each block once.

If a single sector "goes bad" prematurely it will be detected as a bad block and the card will not try to write to it any more to prevent errors.

This is what makes them high endurance

thanks for the explanation! I wasn't expecting them to actually be different! Wear levelling alone makes this a good buy!

Yep h2testw takes a long time to complete because it checks every sector of the card properly.
I'm never in a rush when it comes to confirming a card is real and has no bad areas and even if it takes 4 hours it's worth it.

There were lots of fake cards around few years ago but now ebay and Amazon have very strict rules regarding counterfeit items so big sellers wouldn't risk selling them. Yes it's defo worth using h2test if you in doubt.

Why are the speeds so bad on these endurance cards, only 20mb/s read & write!?
