Excellent option for the winter months.

Always tempted with this things but the bad stories keep putting me off

What bad stories?

I have one of these, it overheats like crazy. I would not recommend it.

Mine 'overheats' but it still works just fine.

I've heard a few of the same last year, via different HUKD Threads also ...

It scared me somewhat too mind?. :-(

But I don't own any of the above, so can't say for sure .....

I have one which has just failed, it got crazy hot.

It still works while overheating, but that is definitely a design fault. The heating issue causes a drop in transfer speed as well. Have a look at the amazon reviews if you want more feedback about this product: amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1

I have one of these and yes they are prone to heat problems. The biggest problem I find with it is getting it back out of the USB port. It can be a bit fiddly to say the least. It's at a great price currently.

Gone through a lot of these all have overheating problem.

you have it plugged in for only a minute and it is almost too hot to touch very poor really but because of the price people do not kick off about it otherwise these would have to be recalled (had 20 myself all suffer the problem)

Doesn't sound promising. :-(

But thanx anyway. :-)
