Found 2nd Jul
Seems to be the cheapest around for a 64gb MicroSD. Obviously add P&P costs if you don't have prime.

Doesn't solve the Amazon problem. I presume that the people who pay for postage finance those who don't. Some prime users expect to get their stuff the next day, but the ordinary non-prime member should not (IMO) have to pay for delivery of such a small item which should only cost pence to post.
If the Chinese websites can give free postage on small items to the UK, then why not UK amazon?

Because people with paid prime accounts contribute to wages of the staff who pick and package the items, they also contribute to the local amazon warehouse who once receiving the item, get it to the courier (who also needs to be paid) who then bring a it to your door the day after you’ve bought the thing.

I think the costs involved in doing all that outweighs what they pay, I don't know how many items a typical prime user buys per week but I suspect the ordinary users subsidise them on items like this. No facts no real information, sorry.

Benchmarks suggest ~20MB/s. Toshiba or Samsung for a few quid more are 2-3x faster.

False economy to buy the cheapest card possible. Sandisk and Kingston have confusing product ranges, they rarely quote write speeds, are the mostly commonly faked brands...

Well then don’t buy from amazon then..... if you see a post that shows a cheap item for free prime delivery, just scroll on past! It’s pretty easy to do

I don't object to free for prime, I'm just objecting to the surcharge on this particular item which has no relationship to the actual cost.

You're forgetting the enormous cardboard box and mile of brown paper needed to pack a micro SD card (according to Amazon, anyway)....

Reciprocal postage arrangements. The Royal Mail agree to deliver any items posted to the UK from China, and China Post agree to deliver the (presumably tiny in number) items posted to China from the UK. So China Post (probably heavily subsidised anyway) only has to pay for a large batch of parcels to get to the UK - the expensive sorting and delivery is done for free by RM.

Hence it probably costs a lot less to post something from Shanghai to London than, say, Birmingham to London.

Not necessarily. Sim sd cards specifically exclude video equipment in the warrantee.

Good thing the third bullet point in the description is:
  • Dependable high speed for shooting full HD (1080p) video and good quality photos

I expect free next Day delivery on my prime account, and get it. Think of it as a special club to join.

generally no - you will need to purchase a high endurance card for those devices - there may be a few that will work happily with a standard microsd card for a few months, but I wouldn't riskit if you value your data.

Actually, that's not a good idea. There are High Endurance cards suitable for CCTV/dashcam use.

Non-endurance cards typically wear out within weeks when used for CCTV/dashcam/torrenting. It will just suddenly refuse to write new content, and delete any of the old content. Be wary, sometimes there's no error message when this happens.

Hence my question as I use Samsung evo car for my dash cam for over a year now and it didnt fail a single time. But I bought SanDisk for £14 off ebay and it had write problems so had to get the refund.

Believe China is a 'developing' country, so gets cheap international postage....

I don't think my camera supports 128gb and also that would be a hell lot of backup data while I might never need more than 32gb. I still hunt for the 64gb ones
