This is never going to be red hot as it's not as cheap as Play which is £8.99 but if you need one quick this isn't a bad deal for the High Street

I specifically needed a basket filler to take me over £100 to use my £10 off voucher (exprires 31 July) so this was the best thing I could find.

For those who need one asap, it is a decent price. Plus the OP has already explained that not as good a price as Play, no need to vote cold!

You can never have enough memory sticks. The other main reason for buying this was to take my original purchase over the £100 mark so I could save £10 on my money off voucher. So effectively I got this for free!

EDIT: I thought Hot Deals was about more than just price. Otherwise we'd only see posts for economy baked beans! ;-)

You may well have effectively got it for free! but unless other hotukdeals members spend over £100 then they have not!!

thats why its only on 2!!

As my opening post said, it's never going to be Red Hot but there may be people out there that will only buy off the High Street or don't have debit/credit cards for online purchasing. In the true spirit of Hot Deals, for those people it's a good deal. I dont care if the heat is only 2º if it helps one person then that's good enough for me.

just waste your money!!! :whistling:
Oh i have just got to have it now!!! i cant wait!!! :w00t:

I agree with OP i have Zero patience for internet companys sending things out. Play for one is incredibly slow for anything i have ordered, although i understand many will have diffrent views, and im only in glasgow not spain so i would expect items to take about 2 days not the usual week.

I much prefer to buy out a shop because as we all know things these days are made to last 2 mins in bubble wrap not a 2 day trip through Royal Mail so i dare say somethings will be broken if ordered online and then to return it you pay posage back and you wait some more where as i could take a short trip in the car, cheaper than a stamp to return anything by post, and get my cash back there and then or a credit it 48 hours

Also as OP said if you need it over the weekend etc your precious play wont come to rescue you.

An example i had was i needed a flash drive to load an os onto my netbook, with no disc drive i cant load it without one would you wait untill next fri to load your os or go to pc world etc and buy one.

I rest my muffin. HOT

Hot for me as well. As OP said it's a good deal if you want it ASAP, not always you can or you are willing to wait when you buy something, especially something small like this.

Let's agree to disagree...

but my challange for you...

Try and find it cheaper in the High Street... then we are comparing apples and apples and not apples and pears. :whistling:

Voted HOT it is a good price for the High Street even if it's not as cheap as Play(which is where I got mine) !

Psychic;5838426

does anybody need one that bad they cant wait a few days????:whistling:

Actually yes!

Need one to test a few operating systems on and needed it immediately.

Nice one OP

For those who are interested in online deals only, there is a viewing option for exactly that.

If you were to follow the reasoning above, Sandisk should be rejected because you can buy a cheaper brand.

Good post, well qualified.

you High Street Honey's still ignoring my sensible post huh?

Exactly and those who are using netbooks won't want to carry around with them an external DVD writer......I would give up if I were you as that hole your digging is getting bigger all the time....:)

It sure is and the age of the DVD is passing. We're into Blu-ray writers now.

As the poster above has stated, most netbooks, probably the fastest growing sector ot the computer market dont have DVD drivers at all.

It's not personal  as I cant disagree that DVD as a back up medium has it's uses but an 8gb or 16gb memory stick is far more flexible. I can even plug it into my HD TV or PVR or into my Archos dock and transfer films and music

EDIT: I was in Tescos earlier and these drives were 19.97

...............good for you guys

I was just light-heartedly comparing like for like,
not really in the mood for a heated debate about media right now.

i did vote your deal hot if your worried

Original Poster

Thanks Phatboy ... cheers.

There's far too much heated debate rather than constructive discussion in some threads these days.

I saw your smileys so wasn't worried  and as I said "It's not personal " :-D

good stuff

I've bought one Thanks
