Had one of these in my basket for a few weeks, think i saw the deal on here that they were at £9.99. Now at £7.49 it seems really good, ordered one earlier.

Always makes me laugh when people buy these in Asda for about £22, and think they're getting a decent deal. That's Asda price.
Great 1st deal OlympicAdam, thanks for posting
I got the 8GB version of this for FREE this week. Using that £5 eBay code. Great little stick. Little being the operative word.
HORRENDOUSLY slow - im talking under 2MB/s writes

I'd agree, one of the slowest drives I've every had, though will do the job for storing movies for my mum/dad's TV, but still a good price for a 16GB
I had an 8gb version of this, and like panyan's mine was also very slow. It stopped working entirely after not-very-long too. If you value reliability it might be worth spending a bit more.

Would this be suitable for the Xbox?

I agree. I have an 8GB one and it is awfully slow, but the size and weight of the damn thing evens that factor up.

I got a 16GB one of these 18 months ago when they were expensive, so slow it was unuseable,

It has been in my junk box since the end of the first day!
can anyone recommend a fast usb for a good price doesnt have to be 16gb. I just lost one of these over the weekend but a 4gb one with a load of work so I need a new one and might aswell get a fast one
if you are thinking of formatting to ntfs this on a windows machine , be prepared for a lot of hair pulling, got the 32gb model and now dont use it.

no way does this have 12+MB/s write rates! you must have a weird perception of time.
I got mine from PC World a couple of weeks ago and use it for installing operating systems on laptops. Whilst the write speed is pretty slow, the read speed beats a DVD when installing Windows 7 or OSX.

I do worry about the build quality though, I don't like these USB keys with plastic connectors.
Good price but VERY slow!
I've got the 8GB and 16GB versions and yes they are painfully slow. But they're fine if you aren't in a hurry.

u sure dood ?
takes bout 10 mins to put a hd movie on mine
Not bad for that price ..cheers
They are slow but decent enough. I've 3 of these for various purposes and find then decent. The price that OP has quoted is too good to think about these things, how does 20 more seconds matter if you do that not more than once a week!
People keep mentioning speed, i have an 8gb and writes at 3-4mb/s which for me is plenty fast enough. These are great for films on a tv, music in a car, or just storing documents.

Fair enough if your backing up each day but for most people they just want to dump 10gb on music on there once then use it in the car and add a few songs periodically so the speed doesn't matter so much.
Slow. Very slow.

I too got 8GB version last week via the ebay code. I test my flash drives with HD Tune, mine averaged 24 MB/sec transfer rate. This is the fastest I've seen, for comparison 8GB Kingston DT101 averaged 17MB/s.

I do appreciate that the 16GB may be a different kettle of lobsters.
back up to the > £9 mark
OH man. =[ I've been looking at memory sticks the past few days and this one one of the few I narrowed it down to. Maybe I should have the confidence to post deals because I saw this days ago but didn't post because my deals never get hot.

In the end I went for this one though amazon.co.uk/Kin…RCA as it had better reviews and had just drastically dropped in price. The blade was my second choice though, and is cheaper.
cheap but slow as buggory
