I don't have one, but I have seen many comments suggesting that this is a very slow drive.

£1 cheaper than play.com so better than nothing.

I really need to get myself a 16gb or 32gb pen drive soon. Can anyone reccomend me one that has fast transfer speeds at a reasonable price?

I have one and it is very slow but personally it's not a big problem.

not sold by amazon i'm afraid.... it's one of their "preferred " partners....

+1.

This is not as fast as my Patriot XT USB flash drive, but it is considerably cheaper and great if you do not mind waiting a few extra minutes when copying large files. My 8GB Partiot reads at 35MB's and writes at 20MB's versus 14MB's/6MB's for this drive (according to HD-Tach benchmark).

It's read/write speed are slower (a 100MB file took about 30 seconds to a minute longer by my experience in comparison to a normal USB drive), and it won't let me copy files if they're too big (>1GB by my experience) - keeps saying the disk is full when its empty. I had to break them up into smaller bits to get it in.

However, for the price, it's a really really good deal and I'm still happy with it!

I'd try formatting the drive and seeing if that helps. Moving 1GB files should be no problem even with a Windows OS.

Like many others have said, this is quite slow, but if speed is not one of your criteria for buying a drive like this, then it's good value.

You need to format the drive under NTFS.

To do this right click on the icon of the USB drive on "my computer" click format and select NTFS on the drop down menu. Click format and voila.

P.s This will erase everything on the USB drive so if you have anything you want to keep, backup before doing this.

is it not better to get the 250gb 2.5" drive from play at £30?

Please don't compare apples to oranges.

However, I would personally go for the HDD because of the speed & much larger storage capacity.
However, the HDD will not be as durable (don't throw it about) & is much much larger than the Cruzer Blade.

Did you get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Got one of these recently and can confirm that it is very slow.
Good price though, if speed isn't an issue

I ordered a 16GB Patriot from Play.com for £20 but it seems it's lost it in the post! I'm so annoyed.

Not really, you compared a USB drive to a 2.5" HD, quite two different beasts there sir.

Nice USB drive, good value for money. It is slow though for those big files. Installed windows 7 off it and worked perfectly. Recommended

I read that this drive is more like 7MBps/5MBps. It's Sandisk's slowest product.

Thank you - I'm glad someone else realises that you can't really compare one of these Flash Drives to a USB HDD.

It's like saying... should I get a motorbike or a car?
It all depends on, what you plan on using it for, how much space you need, the performance you expect, price etc.
