Will add to title...must admit I'm not too worried about the speed as although I have USB 3.0 connections I'm ok with just sitting and purring while I wait for data to transfer...possibly one of the few times in my day that I can sit and do nothing yet pretend to be busy so I'll value the moment

Mmm sort of the same as when many years ago you'd send a photo to your printer and then go on holiday for two weeks and know it would just be finished printing when you got back

Strangely enough exactly the same reason as what I've bought it for as Windows 10 apparently needs a 32GB flash drive to create recovery (unless you want to use discs of course).

I'm too stubborn to invest in a 2tb drive. I need too (or at least 1tb) as I need to wipe my data drive to get an old OS off it. I know one day it's going to bite me in the ass.

It's that why you should copy system when new and its not corrupt etc. Can't you just copy all to a bigger drive anyway

Basically I did a fresh install of 8.1 when I got an SSD, but in doing so I ended up breaking the permissions and in turn the Dual Boot with Windows 7 I was doing. I have around 500gb in user area data I really need to sift through. So to save myself the hassle I was going to copy it all to a 1tb/2tb drive, wipe it, then move data back across as and when I needed it. I'd then start doing proper backups on a smaller drive/cloud storage once it's up and running. I could probably get away with a 500gb drive which I'd have when I get an SSD for my Laptop, but I'm lazy X)

Edit: The reason I say a 1tb/2tb external is I don't have the sata ports left for a new hard disc. I'd rather have something I can then re purpose afterwards if I want too. As the actual data that needs backing up is probably minimal. Game saves and photos for facebook group chats are all I really keep locally

Huh?
I have the 16GB version of this, and I can tell you from bitter experience that it's as slow as watching paint dry!

usb.userbenchmark.com/Spe…rce

Terrible effective speed
The SanDisk Cruzer Force 16GB averaged 92.4% lower than the peak scores attained by the group leaders. This isn't a great result which indicates that there are much faster alternatives on the comparison list.

Avg. 4K Random Write Speed 0.79MB/s

Avg. 4K Random Mixed IO Speed 0.79MB/
