how is this remotely better? it's personal opinion and common sense surely tells you buy the cheaper one?

This is a hot price, the other one is a roasting hot price.

It's a bit slow, isn't it?

This is far better design then the other £10.99 one which is only £1.99 less. This actully looks like a proper usb stick and not some cheap toy!

Slight improvement on speeds from user submissions here:

usbspeed.nirsoft.net/?pd…862

i had one of these from the tesco £10 deal a while back... thought it was super slow to write to. I think you'd be better off just getting the smaller amazon deal than this, same quality of build.

If you want a decent one, the Cruzer Micro's are much better on speed as I have a 4GB one of those!

The amazon one is now £14.29 anyway.

My friend has one of these and gets roughly 3mb/s write constantly. One of the slowest Sandisk devices I have ever used. If you want something a little quicker that isn't too expensive you could try the Corsair Voyagers at 7dayshop. I usually get around 15-18mb/s with those.

This is a very good price, but it is not fast. If you intend to transfer large files regularly you should be looking at the following super fast USB drive.

Corsair Voyager GT £18.90.

that deal is expiered now

fail to see how this is a better design. Small is better, for me anyway, less likely to get knocked whilst in the laptop or in the car radio.
As for speed, the smaller cruzer works fine in my media player for films and music. As for transferring files to it -how busy a life do you have. Go make a cup of tea while transferring 16Gb, then sit down and watch 30 hours of films.

still shows £14.29 so expiered

Is a flash drive in any way better than just getting a 16gb sdhc memory card? My computer has a card slot, so it could be used for backup and in my camera.

Not really, I guess you could lose an SD easier but you could carry it in your wallet.

Agreed.
If that was the same price as the Amazon Cruzer I'd snap it up.

better and cheaper than this one

this one flashes a very bright orange led when plugged in .... so mind this f you are buying, very annoying to use on the usb ports that are on the sides... it's too bright and districting
