This looks like travelling in time, been some years since I haven't seen people paying these money for a small sd card.

True, but you also tend to forget, in store price's have ALWAYS tended to be more expensive, or whatever, right?, so ...

Whereas online has rather/traditionally tended to always be cheaper, etc etc etc?.

Hence why pre-2000, and the relatively STILL yet unknown blew up into the gginormous 'entity' that it is now like?.

Otherwise why would us lot (and/or anyone else for that matter?), have bothered wasting our time with them for in the first place?.

Nite to self: Amazon was predominantly an online book store at the beginning - don't forget (and not the multi-faceted behemoth it is now, lol.

And as an 'book store', other non online entities were already long preexisting at the time anyway ...
Eg. Whsmiths (was notably one), as was Waterstones, and ...

So why then bother with Amazon in the first place then?, if their price's at the time was a true like for like like that of what we were already familiar with in the physical shops? (baring in mind this too, we ALL had to pay for their postage & packiyback then also).

So, without reiterating the obvious, there would ofcourse have had to be something a bit 'different' about it, to then 'encourage us' to alllllll break free of the norm' ...

We are creature's of habit aftersll?. :-)

And those (like myself), who weren't born into I.T., the Internet is blatantly not the norm' ... lol.
