Come to me when your in the housing market! From a pure housing point of view you can get a lot more space and storage for the same money getting the CardBoard edition.. don’t listen to these brick and mortar snobs about durability and heat retention, our CB houses are better adapted for the summer heat than some of these drives even! 😏

Forgive the sarcasm maybe this is a better analogy: SSD is faster and more reliable in the sense that if SSD was your house - it would be an expensive small home but you could access every other room in the house from the main living room very quickly. However if your house was a standard HD, it would be a much cheaper and larger house with long hallways to cross before getting to another room and if you need the bathroom it’s a trip to the garden like the Victorian times! Same if you need anything from the chest freezer no space to keep it close by in the kitchen, you gotta walk out and across the garden into the wooden shed where we keep the washing machine and other daily essentials. Too much wind and rain one day and the shed roof blows off and all the valuables inside get ruined..

That’s why we tend to have houses from brick n mortar and keep everything we need regularly close by within the house and anything extra that’s still somewhat important but only used on an irregular schedule like tools or a bicycle you store it in the garden shed. Some people have the same organisational requirements with their data.

I was going to buy this a few days ago but had a feeling that I should hold off for a few days, now i know why
Heat for the deal
Great deal. I just got the 500gb one for £61 on a warehouse deal. Its really fast and tiny. Highly recommended!
I though this was a phone case simply from the picture.

Is this better than Samsung …Is this better than Samsung T7?https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-t7-touch-portable-ssd-with-fingerprint-id-1-tb-usb-32-gen2-external-ssd-metallic-black-for-12999-delivered-at-amazon-3394689

No, it is not better than the T7. The T7 is much faster. I just ordered two from Amazon (and I already own a Samsung Extreme )
I have this. It's great

Great deal. I ordered the 500gb for £79 a week ago but will be returning that and have now ordered this one instead. Amazon have a ridiculous pricing system as the 500gb is £100 right now!!

This drives 3 or 4 times faster than the average non SSD external hard drive.....good for installing software on if you run out of internal space and can't/don't want to, install a larger or 2nd internal drive

I need fast speeds for video editing. A single project won't often exceed 1TB so devices like this are perfect for my purposes - and this is as cheap as they get at the moment for this size / speed = hot.

Heated! Ssd all the way
Anyone know if this is overkill to use as storage for live tv recordings with a shield running Plex dvr and the HDHomeRun quad tuner.

It’s not overkill. SSDs are more Reliable and I trust them 1000% over HDs.

Hot! I have this for my Xbox one and it makes such a difference. Approx 10-15 second loading times on BFV as opposed to about 2-3 minutes!

Typical comment from someone who is clueless on here. See it all the time with TVs, laptops etc.
Great product - I got the 1TB back in Nov for £115 and I'm really happy with it. The removeable USB C on one end is a nice touch too so you don't need to carry around two cables. I also got a nice cable for it on eBay that fits the drive perfectly and has a slot to store the cable (mine was £3.95 - search for "Hard Case Sandisk Portable").

So I bought this when it was on sale around Black Friday and have been using it daily. It's a fantastic product, literally can't believe how lightweight it is and it's super fast. 100% recommend

I really am one. I just clearly don't know much about computer storage devices. Didn't realise it was the key indicator for distinguishing an engineer from others. I shall go back to my university and tell them not to teach advanced reactor design because the "African speed" said that we should only ask 1 question: what's the difference between SSD and HDD. Can you do me a favour? Please become a lecturer at Cambridge university, the simplicity in your thoughts is just what we need. We need simplicity because when you over complicate things it leads to unnecessary stress.....actually.....nah, don't quit your day job

I’m glad you saw the funny side to it not everyone can be an expert in everything and the beauty of these forums is that it’s an opportunity to learn most of the time and occasionally to chip in with our own experience.

The reason you rattled so many cages was the over confidence in your original post about this being a cold deal whilst making a bicycle vs car comparison for transport hehe

No one should be getting worked up over comments on the internet tho.. it gave me a chuckle if anything
Thanks for the post. Bought this yesterday with a nice carry case on the impulse.
I think its a good deal, reputable brand, quite stylish and with the IP-55 rated spec should last a while.
How is this with GTA5 on the go, would anyone like to comment? 😁
