Are these noticeably better than the Gold non-Pro ones? Random read/write any good for phones and tablets? Wondering if it’s worth upgrading the basic cards I use for storage to faster ones any time soon.

I got one of these off Amazon for a bit less but rather stupidly didn’t put it straight into a device and have misplaced it now...

I think these are more reliable, i.e rated for more reads and writes, and so should be significantly better in devices like dash cams or if you record a lot of footage with drones, action cams etc.

For a dashcam I’d explicitly get a high endurance card as I don’t think they warrant use of these in there. The dashcam I got came with a card designed for it. The Extreme Pro I bought I’d intended to put into a GoPro as my friend said he had tons of issues with an Ultra card before.
Would a Pi 4 notice any benefit from one of these over a Samsung Evo SD? Or is the CPU / Chipset etc not capable of these types of speeds?

Yeah the ultra wouldn't work well I don't think especially past 1080p as it does not have enough write speed to sustain it. A quick google search shows Write speed of 110MB/s and 60MB/s respectively for Extreme Pro and Extreme and then also the higher read speeds.

Depending on what you do with the Pi, I think a faster write and read speed would make a difference to the overall performance so personally I would buy this as it's just slightly more over the non Pro version.

I only used the Ultra for 1080p at 60fps and it seemed fine but I’d rather just get the right card. Must find that Extreme Pro...

Buy the Samsung, you won't see much performance difference anyway, plus it's cheaper.

Thanks. That's what came with my kit anyway.

I get the card itself is faster, as I'm new to Pi, I was asking if it's even capable of using the faster speeds.

Wouldn’t see the reason why it wouldn’t be capable of using faster speeds.
