I thought I'd go out on a limb and put this device into the wider knowledge of the HUKD community.

For those that have an Apple product with only a low memory (16GB) then this could be the answer to your dreams!

I understand that some people will say "well you can just get the 32GB version of an iPad for less extra" but if you've already got the Apple product then it is a good way to add onto your phone or tablet.

This device allows you to expand the memory of your Apple product (if it has a lightning connector). Fair enough, for the amount of memory you get compared to a normal memory stick, £ for £ is well off, but it's a good fix.

The lightning and USB connections make light work of moving pictures and videos between devices - the drive can transfer data up to 3x as fast as standard drives. Better still, you can set the app to automatically transfer photos and videos to the drive from your camera roll when the drive is connected to your device. You'll also be able to play videos and music files directly from the flash drive when you sync it using the iXpand Sync app.

Expecting the coldness, but it could be useful for somebody!

it's the one thing that made me switch from iOS to android for my mobile, storage. this is a good workaround, pricy yes but it's apple cheaper than a new phone I guess?

Nice solution to an unnecessary problem. I'm an avid Apple device user but wish they would improve interoperability.
Why can't I use say my Apple SD reader on my phone for instance.

Without writing an essay, the short answer is allowing this takes away the control apple has over how you move data. The problem with this would be they have no say over the user experience. It's not, as many think, to restrict usability of a device.

Just over twice the price (£129.99) but 4X the memory

128Gb version - Amazon

Just how exactly is this a deal? Been this price for some time voted cold

The I-flash drive is a better deal as you can use your own micro-Sd with it,
I pick one up for £20 on eBay

Excellent point, & well put answer too. :-)

But still an unecessary 'experience' regardless ..... lool.

I'd urge you to read walter isaacson's Steve jobs biography. It gives a big insight into apple and the way things have developed.

I bet if you asked any iPad user the most requested feature would be a SD slot but unlikely to happen ever.
