Hello,

PC World normally sells a Sandisk Micro SDHC 4GB for £34.99 (instore, didn't find it online... strange, in fact I found no micro SDHC on their website, I mmust do sthg wrong).
But the same product is only £9.99 at play .com (delivery included, see http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3359487/Sandisk-Micro-SD-HC-4GB-Card/Product.html).
So according to their price match policy, you get it for £7.49!
I just did it instore and it works. Went to te till with the product and the printed play webpage.

The only con is that the card is only a Class 2. But it is enough for most use.

I have to thanks helmethead for his post on the SanDisk 8GB Cruzer Micro, I wanted to buy it, but my local PC World was out of stock (although I did reserve one using collect in store in their website).

Hope it helps,
Nicolas

-- edit #1:
It comes with a SD adaptator
And to find the product instore, search a blister with 'Wake up your Phone.com" written on it (this label is bigger than the sandisk logo!!!)

-- edit #2: it is SDHC, so it only works with SDHC compatible devices. Better to say it than be sorry.

The W810i is very similar to my mobile (K750i) and they both use Memory Stick PRO Duo, so this memory card could not be used...

Most stores will not price match with products found online, so I am surprised that PC World would. Heat added =]

But Does This Come With Adapter Like Pcw Do ?

It is written in their price match policy, see ]here
They explicitely mention Play.com and Amazon.co.uk (among others). Only criteria: products should be available and prices should include delivery (although for item between £10-15 with amazon, you miht be able to argue that for £15 you get free delivery).

Link an dprice please? Didn't find any Toshiba micro SDHC on Play.com.
Anyway, the good think with PC World and their price match promise is that you don't have to wait for delivery! Useful when, like me, you think about buying a memory card 2 days before going on holiday :whistling:

Ok, I didn't knew.
4GB, Class 4, £7.99, but this isn't a micro SDHC SD Card, just a normal SDHC Card. Wrong link?

You can try a similar deal: look PC World online or instore (they had many differents m2 cards but I didn't look at them), find a very overpriced one, and ask for their 110% Price Match.
And post here any good result

Great deal, heat added.

According to the link to the price match promise you need to call a number and price match over the phone. Is there different information for purchasing in-store?

I rang the number yesterday and he suggested I print out the play page to take into store with me, ringing that number is only for website orders.

Thanks.

Yep, I've had PCWorld price match Amazon/Play/Dell many times. Just simply take a printout of the item (With it showing as "In stock") and PCW will price match. Just ensure that they give you 10% of the difference as they're good at forgetting that bit and need a gentle reminder! ;-)

Why dont you just take a look for yourself! It`s not hard!!!;-)

These are getting cheaper, got mine for £20, make sure your device supports SDHC

will it work with an R4 for the ds lite?

The conditions state only one of each item - although you occasionally see sporadic reports of people saying they got more than one.

I have always wondered if the 'lack of availability' online of memory cards on PCW (even for [email protected]e) was due to people using their pricematch policy. Since play consistently sell their cards vastly cheaper than PCW - they are constantly paying out sizeable 10% differences. I do all my flash memory shopping at PCW using pricematch.

Do you really need people to search for you?
Try 'R4 SDHC' in google and you will get:

First hit:
"Next Kernel for the R4 is due soon, and looks like it will have support for SDHC cards"

Second hit:
"Since SDHC support isn't possible for the current R4's, the team are introducing a SDHC range of cards soon."

Just wondering, but how much did PC World discount for delivery cost with Play.com? Just that I'd like to do this with another product from Play :-)

Uh???
Play include the delivery cost in with their price so PCW will price match the advertised price on the Play.com website. It means that you'll basically get the Play.com price in store @ PCW plus they'll then knock off 10% of the difference in the two prices! (Don't forget the item has to be in stock at Play though)

Nick

thanks for this.

Ah ok, difference of the two prices. Excellent - thanks!

This may help: ]Linky to pcworld price match policy

In my local store, the floor staff aren' t aware of the price match, and the till staff don't know the details (even though its pasted onto the till :/)

I bet they are aware but are under strict instructions to make it as difficult as possible to claim.

Voted Hot! Just picked up the 8gb version for an even better saving - thanks.

I wanted to, but I didn't find it instore!
That's why I settled for the 4 GB.

How much did you get it for (I didn't find it on PCW website)? And which calss is it?
Thanks

Damn, I left disappointed this morning. PC world had non in stock but the guy told me to go next door to Currys who, according to his computer had six. I tried and haggled for half an hour, eventually going to the manager who fobbed me off at the time with something like "they don't do as much online trade as pcworld so can't offer the price match" tbh not sure they would do much less tbh! Anyway, walked out empty handed.
I got the feeling the guy behind the counter almost gave in because he couldn't find a reasonable reason to refuse the price promise but it seems they were right because whilst pcworld & currys are part of the same group they do have seperate policies.
I wish they had saved me some time and told me that from the start!
Annoying because by the time I drive to the next nearest store in Manchster I might as well have bought it straight from play!

But not nearly as satisfying as reducing PC World's profit margin!

Would i need to print the play.com details out to get them to price match it or can i just go in and mention it?

You would need to print them out of course - they are programmed to wriggle out of honouring these things, and not having the proof of the lower price is a very easy way for them to wriggle out.

Hi. I £10.79 after price match, class 4.

Hmm - you're lucky: the play.com one is class 2 so is an inferior product.

ukkit is speaking about his ]thread for a 8GB one, which is class 4.

The 4GB one in this thead is a Class 2 (same as play.com). Otherwise, PCW wouldn't have matched the price.
