The Sansa clip is a great mp3 player, but this is not a good price. Has been cheaper than this on Amazon. And cheaper on eBay.

COLD, been cheaper

COLD, been cheaper

Well yes it has, but can you tell me which major retailer has them cheaper now? I need to buy another one for my wife's car as she is about to start commuting. A brief search seems to show this as the cheapest from someone I have heard of, if you know where you can get it cheaper then please tell us.

people always say "it's the cheapest now!" after someone says "been cheaper".

just because it's the cheapest, doesn't make it a deal.

also no-one 'needs' one for commuting. they would 'like' one.

I didn't say anyone "needs" one for commuting I said "I need to buy another one" Pillock.

How do u define a deal then????

I'm not going to get into this debate about is it a deal or isn't it, but will throw in a couple of points:-

1 - Since the Clip+ has a micro SD slot, you can increase the memory capacity by bunging in a card, which is probably cheaper than buying the higher spec unit upfront. I'm not a technocrat but I have a 2GB Clip+ & haven't had any problems listening to stuff on the SD card.

2 - I bought mine as a manufacturer refurb off eBay. At the £20 that I paid it's effectively a disposable item (whereas at £44 I'm not sure it would be). It works fine and sounds great, I can't see a serious downside to buying a refurb for something this cheap, especially given the saving against normal prices.

I haven't voted either way on the deal, as I haven't researched prices on new 8GB models so can't comment on that. But this is not a deal that I would go for, personally.
