It's one of the fastest USB 3 sticks and it's 60% off. So it's not the cheapest but it's got a lifetime g'tee and FAST.

If you vote cold please say why cos I'm curious.

NAND U100 Controller USB3 bridge chip USB3 connector

It's as if you stuck a normal 2.5" SSD in an external USB 3 drive enclosure, but much smaller.

If you want to check for yourself, these sticks also happen to support S.M.A.R.T monitoring commands. The controller does, and the little USB converter chip inside the stick also supports S.M.A.R.T, however the operating system of your choice may not support reading S.M.A.R.T info over the USB bus, Mac OS X needs a special driver that could do it (it's on Github, called OS-X-SAT-SMART-Driver).

Transfer large photos, videos or other files up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0
Super-fast transfer speeds (up to 190 MB/sec)
USB 3.0 enabled (USB 2.0 compatible)
Secure file encryption and password protection with included SanDisk® SecureAccess™ software
Retractable drive protects your data and comes with 2GB of online backup.
The SanDisk Extreme USB Flash Drive measures 2.79 by 0.84 by 0.45 inches (70.87mm x 21.34mm x 11.43mm) (H x W x D).
It is backed by a lifetime limited warranty

Some people will vote cold purely on seeing the Title, not realising this is super duper fast. You know the ones that just look on the front page and vote up or down without looking that closely at the deals.

Other times people will vote one way or the other for no other reason than they farted, or that they got a kiss from the wife a minute before browsing the site are in a good mood.

Personally I vote it hot, 'cos I have a 64gb version purchased from Hong Kong and running H2test I am genuinely surprised how fast these are to anything I currently own.

50p less than the email I got from memorybits.

what is the write speed of the 16gb version ?

Much Heat!
just bought one, Cheers

The retracting connector (the entire board inside moves, so don't worry there are no ribbon cables to wear out inside).

Your choice if you'd like a 32gb USB 3.0 for £8.77 which is a Kingston (http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/kingston-datatraveler-g4-32gb-usb-3-0-for-8-77-sold-amazon-themselves-for-free-delivery-1930657) or a 16gb USB 3.0 Sandisk for £11. The Kingston might have only a 5 year guarantee, but you get double storage and it's £2.50 cheaper.

the 32 and 64 are, the 16 is less but I can't find out by how much.

You should have stated the read and write speed on the title OP, as you would get a ton more heat that way!

Purchased, thanks

and it's a lot slower too

Heat because as above - they are blazing fast.

Just got the newer 32gb of this stick and my write speeds average 95mbs. Think the 16gb write speeds are slightly slower though (about 50mbs) which is still good for the price.

From what I've read, this USB has blazing fast read/write speeds. Great price, voted hot.

Also speeds can be affected by the hardware you test with. I get around 200 read/write on my desktop PC but I remember when I tested the stick in Hong Kong on a Asus Transformer I didn't get anywhere near this (I remember I was quite disappointed at the time after reading the reviews).

These sticks fly, only took me around 5 min to complete H2testw for the full 64gb.

190mb is the read speed. Write speeds are most important when it comes to transferring data to the stick.

It's true that you get more storage for less cash with the Kingston G4 but if you care about speed, there's no contest. The extreme has been the power users USB of choice for just over two years now, at this price nothing else even comes close.

yes and those are the figures for the 16MB the 32 and 64MB are faster Mine just arrived in two days.

Are these fast enough to stick one in a rear usb 3 socket, leave it there, and install stuff to it (got an SSD already but it's just a small OS drive).. I'm thinking a 32 or 64gb version (esp 32gb) could be a great game install drive?

Anyone got experiential (not theoretical) wisdom please?

If they aren't fast enough what would be ? the read speed on these is very high. 240GBs on the bigger drives.
