why not save money and buy 1 that doesn't say 'Nintendo Switch'
so basically it costs about an extra twenty quid than a regular 256gb card because it says Nintendo Switch or am i missing something?

64 or 128gb. Get a 128gb non-Switch branded one, they’re probably about £15 these days.

Not sure on the finer details.

This definitely does the job though.

DLC, patches and digital only games (some are not available as physical) have to go somewhere and 32GB built in ain't alot these days, so yes

You will need an adult card at some point most likely but you definitely won’t need 256gb maybe go with 128gb for physical games just because of some outliers like bayonettta etc.

I didn't have a memory card for the first six to nine months of owning a switch. As a mainly physical gamer, I found the internal memory covered me for patches, updates and a surprising amount of downloads. Most of the big Nintendo games even when purchased as a download are incredibly well optimised for storage space. It was only when I started to buy more games from the Nintendo eshop sales that I felt the need to pick up a card.

Here's some examples on mine physical/no DLC, ZBOTW : 947 Mb, LM3 : 26 Mb, Mario Odyssey: 386 Mb, Smash Bros : 1.4 Gb, Splatoon 2 : 3Gb, MK8 : 111 Mb

The NES and SNES switch online are 126 and 112 Mb

I've owned my Switch since last BF, buy mainly AAA physical, a few eshop (Pinball Arcade 3Gb, Tetris 99 1.1Gb) and demos (Mario Tennis 930 Mb). I have 11 of 32 Gb left but I've bought the 128 Gb Nintendo SD Card when it was on offer as I like collecting the Nintendo stuff.
