Bought one of these and it packed up after 11 months. Amazon refunded me but wouldn’t want the faff of having to go through Amazon Germany to get it sorted if it happened again,

Is the Intel 660p not better than this? Would rather spend a little bit more for the 5 year warranty as well

It’s a different interface and QLC though. Generally considered to be the best value but ‘slowest’ NVMe drive out there, Sabrent Rocket or Adata XPG seem to be the best value for speed.
This or the mx500 for the ps4 ? And is it worth waiting for black friday ?

Thanks

MX500 is a better drive but as it’s non-critical data any SSD will be good for it. No-one knows what’ll happen on BF so it depends if you want it now or can wait - what’s your perceived value/cost of waiting a month?
Im good to wait to honest ideally id like a 860 evo for atound 90 or the mx500 for 80 ? Or is that to much to wish for ?

Thanks

An SSD doesn't make much difference at all on the PS4, so I'd go for larger disk space over an SSD.
Can anyone recommend a good / cheap cloning tool.?? Please..

I snagged a 1TB MX500 for £82 with one of the 20% ebay codes a few months ago so I'm sure they can be had for around that price. Current consoles won't use an SSD to anywhere near its full potential though so you may want to keep your options open.

Broadly speaking the biggest difference between higher end and cheaper SSDs is the sequential read and write speeds. Random read and write speeds are where you should look for a PS4 drive and those numbers are much closer across the majority of SATA SSDs, regardless of price. Tge difference in real world performance is pretty much imperceptible on a computer, let alone a console.

From my experience, there is a definite improvement in load times using a solid state drive over a hard drive but almost no difference between any two SSDs.

thanks for the info
A word of caution - after 4 years mine suddenly just died. Like dead, nada, no windows, no filles, absolutely everything gone. Same happened with two SD cards in previous phones from SanDisk again.

I'm waiting for 2TB to come down before I replace my secondary SSD. Still, a solid deal!
£82.99 with my Curve card. Nice spot op.
Can anyone suggest a good SSD for an old Asus desktop computer?

Any cheap SSD that will fit.
Pluh13/10/2019 23:15

Nope.

That’s risky losing all the data just like that
Any other brand of SSD recommendation?
Brutes16/10/2019 08:26

Gotcha, thanks Brutes. Would it have a better price on Black Friday?
