This is a good current price for this size SSD. There are lots of competing SSD drives around this price range most of the branded ones are very similar in terms of performance to this.

In terms of performance the MX500 is currently the best, but this costs a little more - around £68.

I have the Sandisk and although its a decent drive in terms of performance - is poorly put together and the sata connectors are very flimsy. This shouldn't be an issue if you install it once and then have no need to change it, if you tinker and disconnect and connect many times then you are better off with the MX500 as it is much sturdier.
Interesting. My current 128GB has 35TB writes and it's my cache drive in my server. Might upgrade it to this!

Agreed.
The Crucial drive also has a 5yr warranty compared to only 3yr with SanDisk.
I'm always amazed at how light these things are compared to traditional mechanical drives. Never had a problem with Sandisk SSDs for what its worth. Swapped out about 10 over the last couple of years.
Advice needed, trying to move windows 10 system image to my new 240gb ssd but get the following message, in macrium reflect

Not all copied, insufficient space

The system image said it was only 68.1gb
Any step by step guides
Thanks

Are you just moving the system files, or a few games as well as the OS?
These aren't as good as the original Sandisk Plus that were MLC, these are newer versions of the Plus, are TLC (Triple layer cell), so slightly slower.

The crucial MX500 is better value as it's 250GB, not 240GB and going via Crucial there is potentially 3% cashback via quidco/tcb, roughly £2 off, so potentially £66.35. The crucial MX300 is still good value too, as it's 275GB, if you need a slightly larger capacitiy without needing to go to 500GB.

Worth checking to see if Amazon are offering you £5 off £50 top up, and/or £6 promotion for buying a £30 gift voucher. The £6 promotional is shown at the checkout if you are eligible.
The price of these things are ridiculous. I bought mine 3 year ago and still around the same price. Shocking.
Good price! Heat

I honestly don't notice the difference between this and the MX500 , i have both installed on separate laptops.

For the average user this SSD is absolutely fine , and plenty fast enough.

i think you need to partition the drive in the disk management to as small a size as you can ( a few gigs over hoow much you have used so in your case 68.1gb --> 75gb, then in macrium reflect, select the new small partition you have made with your files in it and reflect that, then when you load windows from the ssd, you can delete the old partition and resize the voume on the hdd back to its original size, im not an expert tho, so anyone that is, pls verify this for me

Was even more amazed when I installed a M.2 drive. I guess the next step will be having them the size of memory cards.
Does it using sandforce controller?

Why? To buy one for around the same price? Seems a waste of "time" to me!

Nope , in actual fact they're even better because it's the older version.

I honestly can't believe you were silly enough to pay this amount 3 year's ago. Even the 850 evo , Crucial drive's were cheaper than this 3 year's back.

Look's to me like you got mugged off

Shush child. I was referring to my 500gig crucial. Which is still the same. And me saying these are still no cheaper than 3 year ago then you post cheaper 3 year ago provided me evidence of my claim. Thx. Don't be so mugged off! 🤙

I'm not sure if you're dyslexic, or just completely retarded?! I believe your original comment claimed these were around the same price 3 years ago , but I showed you they were about half this price. You make no sense whatsoever!

Anyway, I have better things to do than argue with trolls like you. Great to see you've contributed absolutely nothing to the site since you joined , keep up the good work nugget ; )
