2TB SSD. Not sure if it has any DRAM as the Sandisk Plus has a variable bill of materials, but some german websites have opened it and found 512Mb DDR3 inside.

Price me cheaper with no fee cards, like closer to 155.
Thanks, ordered.

Paid £164 using Amazon's currency converter to avoid conversion fee charges from bank.
SSDs are just so expensive, this is insane pricing.
Took a look at this but it’s not a great SSD in all honesty, average at best. I’m holding out for the 2TB MX500 to come back down
FYI - This 2TB model has the same controller [Marvell 88SS1074] as the Sandisk Ultra 3D SSD with a DRAM chip from Nanya so this may suit a lot of people.
Is this SSD any good for PS4 pro?
IME, Sandisk Plus drives are unreliable junk - I've had four SSDs die on me in the last ~11 years, three of them were Sandisk Plus.

I also had a 1TB Sandisk Ultra, that I sold to a mate, but that's still going strong, AFAIK.
Should we swich to NVME card these days? way faster speed than 2.5" SATA bus.
Not the SSD for your OS and Apps if speed is an issue. However, ideal as secondary storage for music/video collections write once/read often. Once you have taken the hit with large file writes slowing up - they will perform just as well as top of the range SSDs or NVMEs while saving a load of dosh over a MX500

If that's your course then this horse is a bargain.

I don't think its going to change anytime soon. From what I read factories are at capacity and additional factories are years away. Add onto that next gen consoles will need SSD's to run next gen games and demand for DRAM is only growing.

I thought the same, but when I tried that code it did not work on my account, did you order with that code and get it to work?
41168495-nfzDE.jpgthis can be had for £152 with the code GESCHENK5E and fee free card. Don't need it and must resist....

NVME is fine, especially as an OS drive, and two fewer cable in your chassis is always welcome, but don't get hung up on the perfromance figures - most people simply will not notice the difference between NVME and SATA3 in everyday use.

I have approx 4.5tb of SSD storage in my PC - including two fast NVME drives. I've tried my games folder on both types and loading times are practically the same. NVME is useful as scratch disk for processing large images and video files, but there are few use cases where the performance is noticeable.

I'd say this is perfect for consoles.
Consoles can't take full speed advantage anyway, so don't bother getting a fancy shamncy SSD as it's benefits won't be felt in the same way as you would on a PC.

If you're coming from a mechanical drive this will still be miles ahead. Despite some people comparing it and saying it's not the best.

Thing is people always point out the PS4 can't take full advantage of an SSD but don't mention that it is still a massive difference over a normal drive.

e.g. Destiny 2 with a mechanical 1tb i would load into instances normally but with the SSD I am loaded in a good 10-15 seconds before most other players. For me the upgrade was worth it for that effect alone.
Anyone else managed to get the €5 off? I have tried that discount code on multiple accounts but none of them worked, although I have never ordered from Amazon Germany before, I am wondering if it is for repeat customers only?
Will be good to use for the upcoming PS5 though right?

I never said its not worth it I just said you don't need the best SSD. Any cheap SSD will be better than the slow HDD.

It does reduce loading times on games, which on consoles is ridiculously slow compared to PC.

Sorry, I wasn't actually disagreeing with you. My wording wasn't clear but I was just elaborating on your last sentence.

The PS5 will come with an SSD already fitted apparently. We don't know the specs yet so we're not sure if this will be a better specification or not. The cynic in me tells me given the price, probably not.
Back to €199.99 now.
