If it’d been one of the crucial drives I’d be in.

Burned by Sandisk once before on an SSD. Even though my head tells me all brands have an element of failure, the resentment still lingers on...

Voted hot on price though 😬

That's why I keep on buying the Samsung Evo drives. Yes they are more expensive but everything seems to point to them being more reliable.

I have one of these drives in my server, 24hr use fantastic drive. Great price too, good to see SSD prices slowly falling.

Matches the cyber Monday price

Same thing happened to me...

Every time something Sandisk is posted you have claims of multiple units failing by users - yet in all the years ive purchased Sandisk memory Cards and SSDs, not one has ever failed on me.
This also includes using a MicroSD daily in a dashcam (I do lots of long distance driving) and an SSD as the windows drive in a 24/7 Microserver. Use them in phones and tablets and laptops (must have a total of upto 20 units i reckon - all SanDisk)

Of course i could just be lucky, there's probably someone claiming to have had 20 fail on them.

Can you copy an existing SSD (240GB) to a new SSD to avoid having to install from scratch?

Yes, you can clone an SSD - There are cloning tools available.

Clonezilla (Open Source, Free), Macrium Reflect (Free), Acronis to name a few.

Also many don't realise but from vista up Windows backup has also supported disk imaging....

Wouldn't touch a Sandisk myself. Only SSD's I've had a problem with....

Got this for the same price last week. Good price for this drive in current climate

Good price. Everything has an element of failure at point of delivery/first use. However having purchased one of these I can see why they are more likely to fail than others. The plastic used is very low quality and the connectors are fragile.

says 118 is the lowest so i assume this is dead

Windows backup has also supported disk imaging....

But Windows backup is very basic .. I am not sure if it can restore a backup to a drive that differs in size from the original, for instance.

As long as the destination drive is equal or larger in size it will restore an image
