38 pence cheaper than prime day... Impressive! I literally just thought to myself earlier in the night I needed to upgrade my memory card as I'm running low on memory. Coincidence! Thanks OP!

Hopefully he's happy with liquids as well as solids.

Just purchased for my switch thanks. Regretting not getting it on black Friday, had 20 odd quid in vouchers and signed up to the credit card for another 20 off. Hopefully I'll sell my 128gb card for around 20, making this card around 40/60 for me

Is there anything wrong with U1? I've bought this for my Note 8 as I'm running out of space on my 200gb card

Its much slower then U3. I was copying file from pc to u1 sandisk micro sd card and it was taking ages. Like 10-15mb/s or eve less. When i put in samsung u3 speed went up to like 60-80

Unless you not worried about copying stuff from/to pc i think its fine to have it in the phone. I dont know the read speeds but i think they are much faster than write speed

How do you know if 400gb is compatible with my mobile, I know it's compatible with upto 256gb!

Thanks mate. I probably do a backup run once a year so investing a day in just backing it up is not an issue. I spent yesterday backing up my 200gb card from my phone and it did take ages but its the generation before the 400gb card (standard black with red writing).

I was just weighing up the pros and cons as there's an approx £80 difference between the two 400gb versions.

Would you say it's worth the extra £80 to purchase a pro version?

Many Thanks

What phone is it? Usually they work but the maximum capacity they quote is far less. My Note 4 edge had a 200gb card in with no issues but maximum capacity quoted in the manual was 128gb if I remember correctly.

You shouldn't lose anything as there shouldn't be any unique data on it and if people are then it doesn't really matter if it's 64GB, 128GB or 400GB as it's still a lot of data lost. The capacity of this card makes it ideal to store HD video, large music collections etc. which are likely a copy of data elsewhere.

I have this 400GB card in my Note 8 and I find the speed is fine in day to day use, after the initial set up I usually only transfer 20-30GB's at a time and don't find it's that slow. I guess it depends how often you're going to be doing large transfers. Video playback seems fine as I put a three minute 360 clip on which is 6GB in size and it plays back perfectly.

256GB is SDXC so yes this 400GB card will be compatible.
Any SDXC card in future will be compatible with capacities of 2TB planned.

I would say if you not bothered with slow writing speeds then its not worth extra money. If you are patient and ok waiting for files to copy then you good with u1. I think I was copying ~80gb of data in one go (as large as 2-4gb files) and it probably took an hour (more or less) but you can always leave it and come back later Im using sand disk u1 128gb micro sd card on ps vita and have absolutely no issues. Except slow copying files into card

Do you have to use the Amazon cc to pay for Amazon purchase so the 20pound is used against purchase?

Ok I'll see how it goes. Is that just the write speed?
For such a large card, what is the write read/ speed?

Just signed up and accepted but see no sign of the gift card

Is it automatically added onto your account?

Update: T&C's state gift card will be emailed in month 3 as long as card is used and not in bad standing during the previous 2 months

I had a promo message in the basket saying get 20 pounds of this product when you take out a Amazon credit card.
Signed up and it said I could spend 500 quid at Amazon instantly without waiting for the card to arrive, and the £20 voucher was automatically added when paying for the SD card. I didn't have to activate or redeem a gift certificate or nothing.

Ordered thanks.

Ah it must be Amazon's own credit card. I was offered a card from Aqua. Probably because I took out an amazon card years ago.

4K recordings will eat through it with ease.
My Note 8/9 records at a rate of 350MB/min for 4K/30.
For higher settings 500MB-1GB/min isn't unheard of.

I was king of the playground once upon a time when I had 512mb and the peasants had a mere 64, 128 or 256mb...

Good days.
Wow, I will bite at 70 but this is red hot, have started backing my hd onto a couple of 200 256
