Ideal for the PS Classic
Would this work ok with a hacked Wii U. Cheers

Ideal for the PS Classic

Can you confirm it works? As not all drives work with the PS Classic and there's a pattern that suggests it only supports USB 2 and this is USB 3.

USB 3 drives are backwards compatible, it'll just run at USB 2 speeds, so about 30MB/s

Cool. Doesn't affect me as I already have the USB for mine, but good to know for anyone else. Thanks

Thanks... I already know that 2 and 3 are compatible and work at the lower speed of the connection. However, having heavily researched PS Classic there was a lot of feedback that some USB 3 drives didn't work, and some theorised that it might only support USB 2. So it looks like something else prevented it from functioning properly. Could be the format, or someone installed it wrong, guess I'll never know.
I bought one a few weeks back and I'm probably going to back it as this thing even when idle on multiple different devices gets piping hot and it's not even faulty.
Also you can't add this to your keychain as the hoop is the weakest cheapo plastic you've ever seen.

Same as the older similar designed Ultra fit, I could use mine as a hand warmer!

Exactly... I bought mine to use in my Raspberry PI and all it did was introduce additional unwanted heat to my project.
These do get pretty hot, but not nearly as hot as the old version which got too hot to hold and was very unreliable. These have been pretty reliable in my experience though.
Good price. These get hot too. I think they've changed only the material, from metal to plastic and plastic conducts less heat, but still pretty hot. I've got a 32gb used occasionally and is fine, but I don't think I will risk to get a higher capacity, mainly because they get hot. Got my vote, is decent.

More likely it would be the filesystem. Older drives are typically formatted as FAT32, but newer ones may use NTFS or exFAT, I assume neither of which the PS Classic would support since Microsoft wants you to license them.

USB A 3.0 has the extra pins recessed deep into the connector, and USB A 3 devices must still work if only the original 4 USB 2 pins are connected.

Indeed. P.S. I did say 'could be the format' i.e. exFat, Fat32, NTFS.

This Heat I found is the norm for these devices as was previous generation but still seem to work fine.
I did notice when used in a USB 2.0 slot it did not get so Hot.

Just buy a cheap 16GB USB 2.0 to add Bleemsync 1.1 via the player 2 USB port. Then add the OTG support update and you can use any USB you want via the back power port using a OTG cable. This removes the USB power restrictions that the PS Classic has as standard, without having to do the soft mod. It also means the console is much neater and can play all the games 2 player as normal.

Sorry mate didn’t read all of the comments, do you use yours directly through the player 2 port or have you downloaded the OTG support? It’s much better if you haven’t done it already

I'll be honest, I haven't fully set it up since getting it! I downloaded bleemsync onto a usb, then loaded it onto the console. And then I've been handpicking games, and I could only download one at once, and on terrible wifi/broadband. I then moved house so everything got packed up and it was given low priority. I have since started redownloading games, I can still only do one at once but it's only taken 2 minutes rather than 20!

To answer your question, I don't know anything about the OTG support, so I'll have to look into it when I'm finished. I'll most likely be playing one player games anyway, and on the off chance I have a friend then I'll probably just use a USB adapter/splitter.

It is simply just a cable that goes in the power port at the back, which has a USB port on it and a new power port for the power cable. You then have a nice clean setup and the cable only costs about £3, definitely worth doing just to get the extra speed from the USB even if you won’t play 2 player

So, it has a male micro-usb on the end that goes into the console, and the opposite end has a female micro-usb in (to power the console) and a standard female usb socket for the usb drive?

If you have one, would you mind sending a link? (from your iphone XR 8))
