Seems like a good price for a usb 3.0 drive with very decent speeds and lots of good reviews.

FWIW I have this and it gets very hot in use. Hot enough I wonder how long it will last and whether it is safe to leave plugged in.

I got my wife one of these to put her audio books on. This gets really hot, my wife burned her hands on this so badly. The plastic and metal fused with her skin and got stuck there. At least now she can't lose the drive and be asking me if I've got it.

Same issue, it's too hot to touch after a few minutes of writing files.

Order one two days ago. I nearly went for the ultra fit but read online that it gets very warm so went for the flair instead. The flair is should be delivered at home now so wondering if I should return for a better brand. Just I was going to be leaving it plugged into my Nvidia shield long term
Of course. This deal literally pops up when I just bought a USB. Not to mention my Prime expiring yesterday.
nice catch

Sorry, but my daughter has the flair, it gets just as hot, mind you that is when plugged into a PC, your shield probably won't run the usb port at the same kind of voltage/current.
Would this do on a TV for pausing live TV and recording?

Using a usb drive is a bad idea as a recovery drive. Unless you're talking about recovering a windows image. Otherwise if you're talking about backing up basic documents I'd recommend Google drive. 15GB free since I last checked and unlimited high quality picture storage.

Wow. I knew these got hot but not to the point where it burns someone. Makes you wonder if they even do safety tests on these before selling them.

Same here, exact same model but 32gb at £13
I have one of these. It does get VERY hot when plugged into the USB 3 slot on my laptop. When I plug it into the USB 2 socket on my WDTV it doesn't get all that hot at all.

I saw this and thought my SanDisk stub type gets seriously warm maybe try this - LOL
Same, got a 32gb version amd its like a nuclear reactor after a few minutes.
So, in conclusion: only hot if you touch it - DO NOT TOUCH IT!(same rule applies to some light bulbs and oven burners)
My SanDisk Ultra makes a brilliant hand warmer after documents have been saved on it for an hour
Although the flair gets hot it is reasonably fast for the money. I could find nothing even close to it from other makes.
The data traveler linked to above is shocking in comparison. Look at the Amazon review images of crystal disk mark.

The 4k write speed is 0.003 MB/s or 3kB/s... The flair is 3MB/s which is 3000kB/s

I will take the thing being hot when it is 3 orders of magnitude faster.

People should be aware just how common these slow USB sticks are. In fact San disk ones are probably the only non crap ones.

not hot enough to make pop corn. it gets a tad warm ie the back if your phone when you use it to much. great usb for the price and speed. to people burning thier the hands on the usb god forbid they boil a kettle or use GHDS.
Just to emphasise not all Sandisk USB sticks are good they also have plenty of rubbish too. Always try to find crystaldiskmark results.

And you want us to believe your fairy tales??
I love it. I sent my first one back as came so hot. But got a second as transfer speed was very good. I have found, that yes, it gets hot. But not to hot, and I simply don't touch it. Works well. Worth the money
Great price! I have a couple of these already, yes they get "hot" but nothing like what is described here, well for me anyway. I leave them plugged in for weeks on end, no fires yet.....

Any good price for 128GB version?
64 is just too small to buy.
Still worrying whichever way you look at it, to the touch very hot, that cannot be good non stop, like mine is plugged into my TV and streamer, i leave it, but is concerning.
I had the wee tiny 32GB drive. Doesn't work anymore but I think it has a lifetime warranty.

Will probably cost more to send it back as I don't think they will pay postage costs.

Well I guess I better vote this deal HOT then
This deal is way too hot to touch
Price matches the speed. Had knock offs from China that write faster.
Voting very very hot 🔥
I bought the 32gb version in October. It's just died, it turned itself to 'read only' which is a known sandisk issue. At least the data is safe, but I have to buy another one now. Not such a good deal now.

Well, I would have to return the faulty usb drive, full of confidential stuff. So I can't.
Price increased.
