I have seen it last week for £7.99. That clip looks very filmsy. They are only 2 teeth to hold it. Asda's one looks more sturdy and it cost even less atm (£3). Bought one in Fosse Park last week.

Yummy!

I bought one that looked the same as this from Tesco a while back. Normal size bread doesn't fit in it!

Use Warburton's Thins. They taste pretty decent but toasted are great

Haha! They do all trim the bread. By far the biggest influence on whether to buy one of these things is if it has removable plates. These things are a devil to clean otherwise. I suspect for £3 you might be asking too much for that though.

Use a damp cloth when it is hot.. Easy peasy

If only I could eat cheese I'd get this at such a good price!

I feel for you man...missing out on so much...

any idea what time this shop open at

For four quid that's cheaper than a foot long from subway! Hot from me.

Nice price, would look great next to my bread maker and George foreman in the back of the cupboard

Don't forget the soda stream and smoothie maker too!

Well these are junk IMO you end up with inedibly hard bits its more like stuff waffles than a sarnie.

However they might get you buy until you can afford a PROPER sandwich toaster.

I'm talking specifically about the Breville VTS025.

Yes - it's £30 - but it's a lifechanger.

Please - see the reviews. 99.99% of owners recommend it.

Someone already mentioned it..why are these things never made to fit proper bread??

People moaning at a £3.99 product.

I have ordered the Breville VTS025 from Tesco this morning, it was £29.50 but forgot I had clubcard vouchers so got it for £6.00....:D

Im not going to vote this hot or cold because a. I love toasted samwiches and b. It always lives in the draw so becomes a waste.

What I did find as a solution for toasted sandwiches is a george foreman grill, get one of those 10 piece grills you can grill and toast your sandwich and uou can leave it on your work top as it has multiple uses.

I have the Breville and a toasty maker like in the post. They both have their places, but if I had to throw one in the bin it wouldn't be the breville.

Bacon mozzarella bit of basil pesto and the breville turns it into magic.

You can't beat a panini toaster. No limitation on bread size or quantity or filling. Cheap for small thin toasties though all the same.

mmmmm! ham and cheese for me!

where was this advertised, in store?

I know I tend to say this in a lot of the sandwich maker deals, but learn to use a frying pan to make toasties.
Warm a frying pan on a medium heat (must be medium and not high), butter one side of a piece of bread and put it butter side down in the pan. Add cheese and your fillings, top with a buttered piece of bread butter side up.
Once the cheese melts and starts to get stuck to the top piece of bread flip it so the uncooked bread is on the bottom.
When the new bottom piece is cooked take it out of the pan and enjoy.

The only thing you'll have trouble with is really runny fillings like beans, other then that they are the best toasties you can get.
Not only are the results superior, but it doesn't require a dedicated toastie maker and a frying pan is much easier to clean and store.

This is still a good deal, but will no doubt end up in a cupboard.

I have one, its not very good. It just doesn't get hot enough!

For that price I can buy 10 and throw them away instead of cleaning them

This makes AMAZING toasties

As someone who works for ALDI mentioned before, offer is only available on a few selected stores. So you may be lucky to get this half price.

cheese and pickle? yes please

Ah, I paid nearly £6 for one of these from sainsbugs 3 weeks back, just as the summer holidays began.

Well worth the money, has meant that my 14 y.o. son has been able to have some sort of toasted lunch every day, some days he has even fed me !!! Thinking up new combinations to toast even gives him an interest other than computer games.

Agree that properly cleaning it is a flipping faff, but frankly if it is scropulous and vile by the time september comes I'll sling it out without worrying for £6.

Just microwave half a kilo of butter and cheese, then smear it directly onto your belly and/or thighs...

wash it down with a cup of tears and regret

Ahh ok thank you. Yes my mum picked up a mini deep fryer for £9 instead of £14.99. I will have a look on the 14/8 as says in title

I first saw the similar toasters in latvia and all the bread would actually fit, could it be that they invented it somewhere where tge bread is smaller? As bread in England is bigger than everywhere else I've been I think.

I have my toasties made between the buttock cheeks of my butler in front of a roaring log fire-cant beat them but beans can be a problem.I am tempted to send him down to purchase one however I amworried about the legal ramifications of effectively making him redundant in toastie making matters. If the toatie maker is not up to scratch I can always throw it in the fire-if it is I might throw the butler in instead.Thats what I call a win /win
