The 123 current account is £2 a month but earning cashback on council tax, water, gas electric, mobiles, landlines sky etc will recoup this fee easily

The main benefit is you can get the 123 credit card with no annual fee [updated: first annual fee only] then! Which means you get 3% cashback on fuel at all the supermarkets and bp

Also 1-2% cashback for supermarket and department stores

####update ####
If you are an existing customer the current account and credit card are pre approved
No credit check required, the accout numbers and direct debits all stay the same, as dos current overdrafts
the credit card fee is waivable if you setup a direct debit on the 123 account within 30 days ( I setup a minimum dd payment so as to ensure I don.t forget to pay)
If you have savings £1k 1% rising to £3k-22k 3%

is credit card free only for a year and then back to £24?

Its very decent offer anyway

good if you can get it.

Apparently even more cash back is to be given on other stuff to make it even better

Nice, I'll give that a go!

Has anyone got it, I.m just thinking of transferring our joint bills account (was a&l/Santander) so no transfer switching problems o direct debits standing orders etc.. Current account needs £500 funding a month (not a Santander account transfer) which I do anyway.

I.m on the lookout for a new credit card seen as Santander have gone separate ways with my Asda fuel cashback credit card. Which gets cancelled with 3 months notice

Santander customer service is appaling, after 12 years with A&L it took Santander less than a year to drive me away from the bank account, breaking point was a simple query, can I continue to use the A&L envelopes to post a cheque in? every phone line insisted on me using a log in I'd never used & wouldn't put me to a human, INCLUDING the line for lost or stolen cards.

still have the card & asked them about charge back terms recently, took them two weeks to acknowledge receipt of the query.

Agree absolutely I bank with HSBC but use a second account at Santander.. Service is shocking

55 tcb on current a/c and 20(?) on credit card but I applied for both in same process in the hope that would mean only 1 credit check.

I will dump the credit card after 1 year if I have to pay the fee.

You can also get top instant access savings rates on the current a/c if you keep a suitable positive balance.

I have the 123 current account and have had no problems at all. You pay £2 per month, my bills are very low (ie band A council tax) and I get around £4.50...meaning I gain £2.50 a month. You also get interest on balances over £1000 (I wish!). It's worth doing, I'm just poor so only gain a little!!

Hi there I have this card and gain about £13 a month interest I'm happy with the service had no problems yet

Thanks collo and kfh2009 I.ll give them a call

I have the current account and although it was a total nightmare to setup (customer service) it is working well now. I declined the credit card because I don't fancy paying the £24 a year fee as of Jan 2013, I will just stick with my Tesco Credit Card.

Have both account (credit and current) and made £10 in first month (taking off £2) fee, expect to get much more next month as not all dd were setup in time, prob around £17-20 depending on spends. Far better than the little bit of interest I use to get, will have to see about credit card though as not happy to pay a fee ever, but if we make a saving over the year, perhaps I will

Yeah I don.t like paying fees either but 3% on fuel will net me at least £3-4 a month so that's paid for the card
The guy said new offers will be launched Monday, if they have tied up a few Internet sites like play, asos, etc the money will roll in

Had both of these for a few months now - making about £20 ish a month from the current account and so far the cashback from petrol would easily cover the credit card fees and more - well pleased. Also took advantage of their home insurance offer of 30% discount for account holders.

Can't see any mention of the CC fee being waived oO
(mind you, staring at it hasn't helped so it may be there, I'm just not seeing it?)

It's on the info on the iPad Santander app.. And the customer rep said you have to setup a direct debit to the 123current and then it's refunded

Why are people voting cold.. Just curious.. Cashback on purchases is far more regarding than low interest rates o savings accounts

Took it out but cancelled the card. As I use capital one instead as its unlimited 1% cb on everything.

Got one of them, just 2 quid month and I reckon I earn nearly 30 quid month, service was superb and didn't talk to a number got a great advisor, nice change for a bank!

Santander has included £24 annual fee on my latest 123 credit card statement. I rang to complain that they hadn't given me prior notice that this was due so that I could cancel the card & avoid the fee. Very unhelpful - said could not (in other words would not) refund the fee and that I was informed on my last statement that this would be deducted if I did not ring to cancel. I haven't kept the relevant statement, but I told them, in no uncertain terms, that they should send a separate letter or email, or at least print this information on a separate piece of paper if included with the statement, to ensure that it is brought to customers' attention. All I look at on credit card statement are transactions, balance and date due. I think they deliberately hide it in this way to get people to pay annual fee when they would prefer to stop using card.
