Santander cashback offers *Online banking customers* - Morrisons, Hertz, Waldorf Astoria & Conrad Hotels

Some new cashback offers available online when you sign up to retailer offers and apply the offer to your card.

My currents offers are 10% cashback at Morrisons (first £100 spent), 10% cashback on your next Hertz rental and 10% cashback at Waldorf Astoria & Conrad Hotels.

Will probably only use the Morrisons offer but it is effectively a free tenner.

Not sure to be honest, I know in the past I've not always had some of the offers other people have posted so I guess it must be.

Thanks OP, just activated mine. Been with Santander for 20 years and its the first time I've heard of it.

activated mine, bear in mind ------------petrol is excluded from the offer

Thank you.

Cheers Op. Nice one. Morrisons offer is well worth it for me. Expires 08/03/2015, but by that time I'd have well spent£100!!

I have the same on Halifax

It's only for 123 account?

Mine is a standard current account and I have offers!

12% new look
15% vintage inns
15% Morrisons
10% under armour
10% body shop
15% baux avenue
10% pets at home
15% w h smiths
10% funky pigeon
15% philpots
10% Tinc
15% waitrose
15% pizza express

My Halifax current account has much more variety.

Is this only if you pay with your debit card or does it work with the 123 credit card as well?

are they still offering £100 to join the bank?

And this post for a Santander deal is the first place people will come looking for a Halifax deal. Rather than trying to hijack this post, try posting your own deal or reposting if you already have.

Santander are only offering me Waldorf Astoria, Laura Ashley or Body Shop, none of wich I have ever accessed. I asked them before how they chose what to offer, as the previous ones were Waitrose (nearest one 60 miles away) and other shops I hadn't actually heard of! Their response was that it takes time to look at how people spend, so they can make more appropriate offers,. I've had this account for two years, and they haven't recognised that I shop in Morrisons every week. Seems a bit random?

Does anyone know if this affects the chances of getting cashback received from Quidco/TopCashBack?

Well that's nice for you, but without a link this is at best, lazy piggy backing on somebodies post. If we all did this there would only need to be one post on the whole forum and we each just mention other deals, which members could then be left to track down.

0 cashback offers ever here. But I don't use my 123 debit card.

No it does not.

I never get any of these offers. Just waitrose 5% every time

If I were Santander I definitely wouldn't offer you the Morrisons deal as you go their every week anyway. I suspect that they get a kick back from encouraging new customers.

bank account or 123 account?

Earn 5% Cash Back at Morrisons on all your purchases until 08/03/2015, maximum total reward £5. Morrisons are the only supermarket to price match your comparable grocery shop with Aldi & Lidl as well as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda. Join Match & More online or in store today and save. Excludes petrol stations & morrisonscellar.com.

For us...this is for only have 123 credit card, not the current account too.

I've been given the same offers and have never shopped at any of these retailers so no good for me.

No morrisons for me ?

Who is funding these cash backs? As good old fashioned traditional honest banking did not do this, the money to pay out as cash back must come from the general pool of customers as prices will have to be jacked up 5% across the board as a UK wide to pay for this cash back bureaucracy with a Ministry of Cashback offers and a vast Whitehall style of admin staff. Hotukdeals, Quidco, TCP etc increases sales but banking Cashback moves cash to card spend in the main creating no extra business as number of banking customers is pretty much static.

The offers are personalised to each account holder, and both the stores and % vary eg a family member got Waitrose 15% this month, I got Waitrose 5%, another month I got 5% they didn´t get Waitrose at all.

The Santander offer payback is usually only on the FIRST purchase you make at the store with your card AFTER you activate the deal (and of course before the deal close date) so do check the offer terms carefully - the new Morrisons X% "on all your purchases until 08/03/2015" is more generous than usual.

The payback usually gets credited to your account at the end of the following month, ie 3-7 weeks later.

And from first hand experience trying to be clever and eg in Waitrose asking to get cash on your debit card at the till to bolster the total amount does not qualify for Santander´s offer; you only get the % on the shopping element, not cashback element.

I am going to combine this with the voucher offer to get 18% off at amazon (I have a 100Litre petrol tank).

I've got Morrisons today, I never really shop there as it's a few miles out of my way and 10% off probably makes prices the shop about the same as Asda so a bit of a pointless exercise for me. (I don't buy into the the price match bs any supermarket say).. A good deal for regular Morrisons shoppers though so thanks for the heads up.

It's a marketing strategy by businesses to reach more customers. It'll be the business themselves absorbing the cost.

Good point. I expect you are right.

I seem to have Waitrose instead of Morrisons on my 1-2-3 account not sure if it's as I shop at Morrisons semi-regularly whereas Waitrose is like twice a year... odd.

I found it useful also , calm down

Lloyds do this as well called Everyday Offers. Activate offers through internet banking.

I contacted them and they say they eventually tailor the offers to your shopping choices. I dont have a waitrose within 100miles. Its free which is fair enough but my choices are hopeless, never shopped at any of them

no morrisons for me either and i live 5 mins away from one but i get waitrose which i live 50 miles away from

Glad it's not just me, I can't get Morrisons either.
