Santander personal loans at a all time low of 3.9%

This APR is cheaper than most standard rate mortgages.
OK you can only borrow up to £20000 at this rate but if your lucky enough to have less than £20k on your mortgage this loan would be cheaper than most mortgage rates.

Good rate for a loan, but think really hard before getting into debt however 'cheap' it sounds.

I doubt most are paying 3.9% on their mortgages, certainly the savvy people who take the best prodcuts and never sit on the standard variable rates (SVRs). I pay 1.6% with Nationwide.

Highlighted rate, I doubt average person will get that. Out of 100 people they can legally give this rate to 1 person. BANKS ARE SLY AND KNOW HOW TO CHEAT THE SYSTEM

The rate you are offered will depend upon:
the credit information and the last six years of credit activity held about you by the Credit Reference Agencies (Experian, Call Credit, Equifax).
the value of secured and unsecured debt that you already have.
the monthly income that you have available to repay your new personal loan.
the loan amount and term that have been requested.
the way you have managed any other accounts with Santander.

Not very factual some of the comments here. The advertised rate must be given to at least 51% of accepted applications.

This is cheap for a loan - but a mortgage should be cheaper. Sure, some people may be on higher SVR's on their mortgage. However, these people should seek out a mortgage with a lower rate as opposed to settling for 3.9%.

Yea, the debt is issued out of thin air and suddenly you're paying them free money. Avoid!
