i wouldnt have the nerve to try using one of these underwater http://photo-shack.com/img/559cb990c9dffd8675f6bc2186971dc2.gif

Ordered on yesturday, will let you know how it goes when I use it in Lanzarote next week. Will be strange hoilding it under water though lol

Very low res for video !

I would call it digital stills camera with low (web cam style) video mode.

Your wrong about low res. Its better than Divx and better than standard def TV's

Does it float?

I have the model above this (just can use bigger SD card and has 60fps setting ) and its fantastic, ive used it in the pool the ocean and lots of places and it really is excellent, Its easy to use and the highest settgin on the video gets great results, It doesnt float though.

640x480 is close to DVD Res, which is 720x480. It will have a far better lens and CMOS sensor than a typical webcam and so much better image quality.

I have the next model up aswell and its great.
The video quality is not amazing but the underwater feature sold it to me.

There's a float attachment for it.

BTW this is now the old model (replaced by the 8Mp CA8 a few months ago).

Very tempting!

Fed up with Mini DV format, time consuming to capture.

SD storage the way forward for me, simply so so easy to upload to PC for edit.

Heat applied.

cheers

Ive got one and love it. Takes great stills too. Underwater results are excellent.

Plenty of support to get the best out of it. Here's one link I've got some great tips from:

Just in case you want the Sanyo one search for VCP-S01F or VCP-S06F. That Olympus one looks like its for a heavier DSLR?

HTH

I'd quite like one of these but the non-16:9 puts me off.

got the next model up from this (minus waterproof)

ok camera - not as good as my compact sony - but almost (time to take the shot is it major downfall)

generally good video camera - can be a bit poor in dark conditions.

it records in a strange avi format - but i have a convertor which changes to a normal avi file

i did look at this model when i brought mine - 1 thing to note is sanyo states seals must be changed ever 12 or 24 months for it to stay waterproof

Oh they are all gone, says out of stock. missed it:?

back in stock now

All gone again now, which is bad news for me, as mine was delivered yesterday, and it's faulty, so all I can get is a refund:cry:
