"Abysmal low light sensitivity" from :…htm

If it has a CMOS sensor, then it WILL be poor in low light eg. indoors.

I have been looking for a cheap one that will not suffer this problem, but have now given up, as I want one that will be usable indoors, without loads of extra lighting like in the early days of Video cameras, and will have to wait until CCD cameras come lower in price.
This type is good outdoors, but I don't want movies of landscapes, I use a stills camera for that, I want movies of things like people & pets, and about 90% of that will be indoors: family events & parties that sort of thing!

A recent poster on another similar camera linked the information which explains WHY CMOS cameras have this problem.…htm it will be easy enough to find a lot more info on Google.

CCD cameras don't have the low light problem, unfortunately they are not in this price bracket

I got this yesterday and have played around quickly with both video and photos. Video is excellent outdoors and as long as indoors is well lit. The stills are pretty good to, not as good as my ixus but not far off. For the price I would not hesitate to recommend :-D. Also the bag that comes with it is just perfect for holding the camera, charger and all the cables.

brilliant absolutely brilliant. Can't believe this isn't hotter

I was just about to order, but the bag is no longer bundled for free with this camcorder! Shame!
