Bizarre idea! Fine if you need a cot, but if you have one, you are better off using that and then getting a toddler bed when you actually need it. We have a cotbed for our 6th child, having always previously had cots, it has no real advantages and my 17 month old much prefers my daughters toddler bed to her bizarre bed with enormous ends. When you take the sides off you are left with a very odd looking bed which is frankly quite ugly.
Great deal if you need a cot but if you already have one, pointless.

Cot beds are well worth the money. I personally would prefer one with solid ends (after converting to a bed).
Still a good price if you are on a budget.

Argos have a decent sprung mattress for £59.85 that should fit it.

With the one we had the ends split when converting to a bed to reduce the size of the headboards. This one also comes with small end/s for that purpose.
I would dig out the instructions that came with it, I think you may of missed a step.

No, I have an Ikea one and I definately have not missed a step. I do think cotbeds are fine, I just thought it was weird that if your child HAD a cot already, you would consider this as moneysaving, given you would have to buy a mattress.
It is a good price for a decent cotbed.

Well i got a large cot given to me & the mattress i purchased for it will fit the cotbed, So i could get more use out of this cot bed than from my cot & pass on/sell my cot
