Sapphire is quite awesome, had a HD 6850 for about 4 years and it's never failed me.

Fair enough, I think thats the case for most people. But I've heard nightmares about their customer services if it does fail

Is there a site you can go to to find out if a certain graphics card will fit into your case?

PC part picker should tell you if it won't fit or just look up your cases max GPU length

As Durzat said, check your case online. Failing that, get your ruler out!!

My God - it has the same weight as a bag of sugar!

Before anyone says "time machiiine" or something, if you are not in a hurry others R9 280s have been cheaper in the past:

hotukdeals.com/dea…477
hotukdeals.com/dea…431 (this card!)
hotukdeals.com/dea…893 (3 free games for £2.70 more)

Not voted either way but if you can wait do, as it was cheaper in the past and will likely spontaneously drop again. If you need it now go for it

Guys, this the sort of price I'm looking to pay for a card. I'm not a gamer at all, but there is 1 game I am going to get (it will be my only pc game) that needs a min 1gb memory. Would this be good for an entry level, are there any out there for the same of similar price that you think are better??

Any advice?? Thanks

Heat, just purchased, hope it fits into my machine!

This is the best currently for the money its a rebadged HD 7950 if going by specs this is leap above what the next gen is offering.

If your not really a pc gamer then maybe the R7 260X (HD 7790) would be better.

I've got a HP XW6600 Dual Xeon server with a Radeon R9 270 2GB in it and it plays everything I've thrown at it. If I was more of a gamer then I'd look at a GTX 970, this is a decent card for the money definitely.

indeed! if I was building now, this costs what I paid for my R9 270, but I wouldn't need it

Would this card go ok with this pc or would I need to get a better psu?

You'd definitely need a better PSU. Also, I checked reviews and couldn't find anyone who had put a GFX card into this micro ATX case, theres no internal photos, or a model number of the case, so it's really guesswork as to whether or not the card would fit.

Looking at the "expansion slots", I get the feeling this thing is going to be pretty cramped inside

1 x PCI-e x 16 Slot
2 x PCI-e x 1 Slots
2 x 3.5" Internal Bays (1 used)
1 x 5.25" External Bays (used)

I think both the case and the PSU are going to screw you over, can't imagine that the motherboard will be that great either.

Yes I think your right the case doesnt look up too much..anyone any idea of a decent rig about £350-£400 and could put this card in it?

I have a Palit GTX 670 Jetstream would this be a worht while upgrade?

No.

Sapphire are a good brand they offer serial based warranty so if you were to sell this on you can transfer warranty, something of a bonus, if I was buying a 2nd hand amd gpu off ebay I would buy sapphire due to transferable serial based warranty.

A bonus if you plan to sell on and upgrade in the near future.

Good gpu for a good price. Heat added.

Put a GTX 750 Ti in the Zoostorm. Wouldn't need a PSU and would be a very decent gaming system.

very good card for the money. have a 7950 myself and runs every all new games great. does get hot but that may be the xfx dd cooler on it

I am not sure the '250w' zoostorm psu should be trusted at all and personally,i would carefully check the label for manufacturer code and 12v rail delivery. Less than 30A and i wouldn't dare to add ANY gaming graphic.

Why would you need 30A on the 12v rail when the card doesn't even use any 6-pin or 8-pin power connectors? The max the PCIe bus can supply alone is 75W.

Can I use it for triple/quadro monitor setup? Is there a cheaper alternative for my needs?

I'd like to point out that 30 amps can support around 7000 watts of electricity. There is no GPU on earth that needs that much power- it looks to me as if PSU manufacturers are pulling a fast one on people who don't understand wattage, current and amps, and are either claiming that people need more power than is necessary, or a 30 amp rail actually supplies nowhere near that in practice.

Nope, 30A on 12V means about 360W, not 7kW. Modern pc components draw mostly from 12V rails, add capacitors' ageing and essential reserve to keep the temperature and noise low, on top of severe bias present, especially in unbranded units (peak output indicated rather than constant) and the 360w isn't a lot.

Thinking of upgrading from my Sapphire R7 265 to this, worth it?

Yes, it is a worthwhile upgrade, however the overall performance will depend on some other components ( like processor or ram) and required monitor resolution and level of details.

Thanks 7777777,
that makes more sense, 360w seems far more realistic

Its you that doesn't understand amps watts and voltages.

12 volts, 30 amps theoretical max of 360w but like somebody mentioned due to capacitor ageing and the quality of the psu I don't think 360w would be a reality for continuous supply.

Well done! Heat from me. If anyone was wondering, YES, this spanks the bum off of any of the next-gen consoles.
