Soon went fast at that price but still worth the wait if you can get one at the price above

extremely hot for that price though espepcially as it's a dx11 card

Great price, I just missed out on the ebuyer deal! I'd rather have an extra fiver than Dirt 2 anyway.

I've been checking the amazon deal regularly since the weekend, and it's said 2-4 weeks delivery every time I've been there. Hopefully this £200 price point will start to appear on a few other sites too.

Still, I'm in no rush so I put an order in!

I put this in a system I built for my friend, It's amazing to say the least lol :-D

Wasn't this posted a week or so ago?

Nope that was the 5870 for £267.50 which I'm still hoping will come back in stock at some point before the sun goes cold.

are you thinking about the Sapphire HD5870 VAPOR-X OC Graphics Card deal?

If you have the 4890 then don't bother upgrading unless you want DX11....

Oh yeah, it was the 5870. I just remembered replying to a thread about a 5800 series card.

would this be a good card to fit into that cheap dell deal that was going around a few days ago?

What are you talking about? This beats the 4890 by a good margin, better performance scaling when running cross fire, runs a lot cooler, requires less power and can be overclocked for even more performance! Performance with AA on is even better and to have the ability to drive 3 monitors feels good even though its not practical!!

no chance, this will need a lot bigger than the 350W the dell came with, ati recommends a 600w - so might just get away with a 500w - not worth the risk though! unless u have a 500w and don't mind upgrading to 600 if it doesn't

The recommended psu for this is 500W not 600W(thats for crossfire) I was running a c2d E8200 4x1gb pc-6400 and 2 500gb hard drives on a coolermaster 460W psu and had no problems.

Its not worth the £200 upgrade if you have a 4890 that you probably paid £200 or so in the first place for..... His 4890 might be overclockable too. If I had the 4890 then I would wait and see what Nvidia comes out with if I have money burning in my pocket.....

I have this card and it is amazing, blows the crap out of BC2

I assume there's not really anything else out there at the mo that can beat this compared with the price?.

Absolutely. This is a better card sure, but as the 4890 can still run pretty much everything on max there's no point in upgrading just yet. Be a waste of money.

Awsome card the 5850. I bought a Gigabyte one and flashed it with a MSI bios. Using MSI's afterburner tool, it overclocks to be nearly as fast as a 5870 !

I have neither yet though just a old 7900GTX, im moving across to gaming and looking for something that can mutalate Empire total war ect.

Excuse emy ignorance, but what benefits you get from this card over a £50 gfx card one? I have a cheap gfx and can run Batman Arkham Asylum in the high detail with no problem whatsoever ...

Back up to £300

The 5870 is less than £300 on ebay

It depends on the games you play although your £50 graphics card may be able to play Batman fairly well, it probably won't be able to play Crysis at a screen resolution of 1920x1200 with all the settings on maximum very efficiently, if it does then please post the make and model because I would like to buy 5 :D.

With average shipping costs of about £15 - £20 :(.

Amazon also have these on pre-order, if you missed this deal. £20 more (£218), but it's the Vapour-X version, which come pre-overclocked, 735/4200 vs 725/4000
Nicer cooler too. Personally I'd plump for this one if I was spending that much anyway ...

Well I ran Crysis a long time ago. That time I had this problem of overheating of gfx, so eventually I fitted a good fan over gfx. But even at that time, it ran pretty well! I vaguely remember that I did not max on EVERYTHING, but I was impressed at the graphics!
I bought HIS HD 2600XT iSilenceIII 256MB for £30-ish, but I had to buy a good fan for it too, so it ended up below £50.
In Batman everything is maxed, except the Nvidia Physique which is not supported by the gfx card.

Ordered one of these from Amazon 25th Feb for £194.52  just ****** at having to wait on the stock comming in.... I got £200 burning a hole in my pocket if I find any in stock at that price.
