Guess you don't own one then ? I have a Vega 56 in my other machine which is against popular belief quiet... I'm playing mech 5 on ultra settings on a 2k monitor and this is silent.

I've tried a reference model (Powercolor 5700 XT) and couldn't stand the noise, my old RX 580 seems a much quieter card than this reference model, both on 2K monitor. It also gave me a lot of headache with constant freezes and reboots. My friend has this Sapphire 3 cooler version and it is impressively silent and zero issues.

I have the special edition, it's a great card, very bling.

How is the Powercolor version better than this?

Yeah my GF got my Red Devil 580 and I got the Vega 56 but my son wanted an upgrade from his 1050 so I treated myself to the RX 5700 XT for £300 ... Seemed rude not to.
It is silent ... Don't even hear a slight humming at full settings so I'm happy. Just looking for a AIO RGB cooler ... Well they do make it go faster !

Of course, if it has RGB it has 100% more fastness immediately 😃

As a Ford Fiesta is £300k cheaper than a McLaren, they are both just cars... but which would you prefer? The Saphire is a more premium card, better components, better pcb, quieter, but still it's down to personal preference. Nothing wrong with any 5700xt. They all perform about the same. Shop with your own budget and needs in mind. 🏻

Your analogy is slightly flawed it's more like comparing a Silver McLaren with a Red one ... Both perform pretty much the same.

It's not the best analogy I'll admit that. But genuinely the cards are miles apart. The GPU is the same as they are made by AMD and sent to board partners but the pcb, power module, memory etc is all different. Same family of cards but different altogether. As I say, the £310 card is a great deal but if you want a premium card then a cheaper twin fan isn't quite the same.

Effective performance of the 5700 XT is (very roughly) double that of the APU in the xbox one x.
Though you'd also be pairing the 5700 XT with a CPU roughly 4 times faster than that found in the xbox one x.

It's really hard to compare the two, as performance expectations & use cases differ wildly between the two platforms.
If you buy a 5700 XT, you'd be likely targeting native 1440p on a 144hz monitor.
Xbox one x on the other hand is most likely to be played at 30fps 1080p/1440p upscaled to 4K on a TV.
