I don't know as I haven't bought one. As far as I am aware you only need a receipt to claim the £50 cashback from TomTom - see tomtom-promotions.com/cas…GB/.

I got it for £215.99 when Halfords were selling it with 20% trade-in and then an extra 10% off - with TopCashBack it came to £207.28. If you purchase it from Halfords the cashback can be claimed and details here. Great satnav, if you prefer a standalone unit, but cheaper elsewhere.

It's £259 at Halfords, when added to the basket, at the link here. The Halfords deal is also included in the TomTom Cashback that I provided in my previous post so it comes to £209; plus an extra 3.03% for TopCashBack and Argos is far lower %. Not including the TopCashBack, Argos is £229 and Halfords is £209 for the same product; therefore, it is cheaper at Halfords.

Why pay £229 when phone navigation is available for free!! Google maps, Here, Waze.......lot of good options
Edited by: "AstalaVista" 7th Aug 2015

As someone who uses a Sat Nav for 12 hours a day 6 days a week, I've used them all and recommend the Copilot app which is only about 20 quid, I did a 2000 mile road trip in America in June and paid for the USA version too. Maps are downloaded for so no need for internet connection. Please don't mention Waze or Google maps as whilst they maybe good for a very light user, they're not worth a carrot compared to CoPilot.

Beware this is one big, big satnav. I have the 6000. For someone who takes calls whilst driving I still find a separate phone and satnav invaluable. Be aware though that Tomtom itself may be up for sale so lifetime anything may be as long as it stays independent. Also note you have to buy speed cameras every year on the 6000.

HD traffic seems to be better than Google at moment. Plus I don't want phone keep messaging email updates and phone calls when I trying to look at screen. Plus I want it completely hands free. Which the phone will not be.

Also includes locations of migrant swarms that might impede your journey.

Ordered, gonna use it next to my old reliable tt920 truck.
As for 'here' maps, yes they are good, but I use spotify on my mobile and yes, I also use it as a mobile.

6000 has voice control but you have to renew speed cams at your own cost after year 1.

How does Copilot update traffic jams with no internet connection? Also why is Waze not worth a carrot in comparison to copilot as I have been using Waze for about a year now and would like to know if this is worth paying for.

Hello Steve ,yea it has got live traffic updates too , but yes your correct you'd need internet connection switched on for that. Never really bothered using that feature though as don't do many motor way journeys in my taxi (sadly ! )
