Really!!!!
Plenty at all the stores in my part of the country.

Thanks.
been looking for one of these, better than having the "break into my car" ring on the windscreen.

Good find op thanks, and seems lots available in Portsmouth area local stores. Heated.

Thank you ordered one from Camberley

They have some crap, don't they? There are finite resources on this planet and we're making junk like this.

This is a good product and works really well, what's your problem exactly??? Your house is probably full of useless junk in the eyes of others too, sometimes all you have to do is engage brain before posting

...you do realise how many rare materials go into the PC/mobile phone you're using at the moment, yes?

I'm confused, does this work better in California than it would in say Dubai or L.A, it would be handy to know before I go and buy one for each of my houses

I'd guess not as rare as brain cells in their house right now

I have no idea these existed, but reserved one in my local.

Can you use them with your phone as well?

It really is a good product, make sure you clean the surface well if you detach the sucker plate and it holds like glue, its weighted well and the beans will mould to the dash so mines never moved on corners etc. Plus it brings the device closer too so its safer

Its just a weighted bean bag with a gloss plastic surface in the middle, if you have a holder with a sucker mount, it SHOULD be fine. I say should because the way this has been designed can make it hard to use with some devices. My Tomtom 135 sits low in the bean bag and I had to manoeuvre it around to get it so that I could see the screen properly.

Hmm... not sure it is worth collecting in that case... I was hoping this would somehow replace the need for the suction cup

You still need something to stick on this, but trust me, its worth it if you currently use a windscreen mount

Frakison your trying too hard. Take a chill pill no need to reply to every comment. If you don't reply to this I'll be amazed

You cant post a fishing comment like that and not expect a reply trollboy. Since when has helping someone with the benefit of EXPERIENCE been considered "trying too hard"!??! Is that not the spirit of the site?!?! Get back under your bridge and stick to lurking, you're clearly a lot better at that.

Now if you don't reply to this, we'll all be much better off, there's a good lad

Order one.. Thanks

California has laws that prohibit anything being stuck to the windscreen, therefore a dash mount is ideal.

That's not quite true. They have limitation to where you can stick your devices. Quote: "A portable Global Positioning System (GPS), which may be mounted in a seven-inch square in the lower corner of the windshield farthest removed from the driver or in a five-inch square in the lower corner of the windshield nearest to the driver and outside of an airbag deployment zone, if the system is used only for door-to-door navigation while the motor vehicle is being operated."

Some other counties forbid windscreen mounts though. Details can be found here: blog.proclipusa.com/are…te/

Thanks, ordered and now collected.

actually a good idea
its actually illegal to stick something to your windscreen in the area where your wipers go
although i pretty sure my tomtom 940 charges via the cradle it sits in onbthe window mount so need to look
EDIT
or maybe i heard wrong... looking at the post a little further up

Just picked 1 up in Aintree, Liverpool.

1 left on the shelf when I left.

Ordered thank op.
Been to California didn't realise this was illegal. Didn't get stopped though
Off to DC later looks like I'll be be needing it there!

Do these still work for drift cars?

recent experience of halfords.. ordered via ebay halfords.. was told twice that my items were ready to collect and waited 30mins instore while the searched and couldn't find them. second time the guy actually rang to say they were there without checking. I then got refunded but have realised they've short changed me too!! furious.. waiting to speak to customer service again tomorrow.. no longer a halfords customer after the instore service and reaction to my dissatisfaction... they had the cheek to say it wasn't their fault as it was the ebay part of halfords... they use the same name and logo though..

Just picked up one of these, it's a hefty weight tbh.

Bought one for my trip to the U.S. Recon this is going to be half my luggage allowance!

lol
