Good price especially from an expensive seller like sportsshoes. I wish the Xodus would go down to this price.
I've just bought them.

Im looking at starting jogging, but will be doing mainly road/flat field. Will these be any good to get me going, as don't want to spend a load in case I cant get into it.
Thanks

These are more aimed at trail runners - hence the big grips underneath. If you use them on the road then they will wear down quickly and won't provide much support/padding for plodding on the roads. If you are just starting out then buy yourself a cheaper pair of road shoes from a decent brand (Brooks are my choice but Asics, New Balance etc are also great)
If you're starting running I'd also recommend getting your gait analysed or you could end up with an injury if you're not a neutral runner
Could you use these for walking (doing Yorkshire Three Peaks in September) or should I go for something more like a hiking boot? Am new to these sorts of things!

I was of the opinion that sportshoes.com was about the cheapest there was, unless you import. Where do you shop normally as I go through a lot of running shoes, mostly ASICS?
Currently using my bargain Brooks Cascadia 10s from TK Maxx but if I was in the market for new trails I would seriously consider these!

How do I go about doing this? Just pop into a sports shop?

There are various specialist shops that do this such as Run and Become. Personally I understand the reasons why you are being advised to have your gait analysed but don't feel pressured into buying extortionate shoes from them!

I'm an average runner who knows his limits (half marathons and OCRs) but I've never had a gait analysis and never bought expensive shoes and have had no problems whatsoever running. Maybe I'm lucky but I'm not 100% sold on gait analysis myself...

or just put one foot in front of the other and see how it goes getting your gait analysed ROFL
I think they charge you for this service instore but I believe this will then be deducted if you buy shoes from the same shop. Never used one, this video service looks good.

WHAT???? Find a different store.
Some of the Amazon reviews suggest they haven't got the best build quality....?
Those ragging on gait analysis must have natural good poise; for the rest of us (I over-probate ~2.5 or 3 and my knees rotate outwards, I've had to go to the physio a few times) if I still want to be running in 10 years without excruciating pain, a visit to the shoe shop is an absolute minimum. If I hadn't had gait analysis before training for and running two marathons...
Saucony are a great brand and they are well reviewed on runrepeat.com (which might be a better forum for opinion that some other non specialist sites). I think the gait analysis comments here might be a bit misleading - these are trail shoes not road - if you are using them as intented, i.e. off-road / up & down hills, etc then neutral / stability/ etc becomes redundant as you aren't continuously striking a level pavement in exactly the same way...

my bad!
I haven't used this particular model but I can highly recommend this brand. I suffer from shin splints without the right footwear; however, I have owned a pair of Saucony trainers for 10 years and I have never had any problems whilst wearing them. They have lasted throughout the years fantastically – though, I think it is probably time for a new pair. I paid £90 for mine from Alexander Sports in Portsmouth.
