I purchased a pair of these when they last popped up on HUKD, a couple of weeks back.

The stitched spindle, where the wall of the shoes meets the tongue, close to the shoe's throat, digs in to the skin, and causes irritation. I had the shoes replaced, and the same problem presented.

When I investigated further, and replaced my running socks, with no show socks, it was glaringly obvious, and irritable walking around the house, let alone what it might have been like going for a run.

If you do buy these, I would check them using the above method, as if you use a particularly thick pair of running socks, you could conceivably miss this flaw (if it presents), and only realise when the shoes are used, and it's too late to return. (edited)

These look kinda butters. They look like something Asda would make, not that I've got anything against Asda. Clearly I do.

They're just for running in some wet mud in a forest, not for hanging around outside bargain booze on your leccy bike doing wheelies.

I'm looking for waterproof/water-resistant running shoes (mix of road and trail) at a budget price, thoughts on these Saucony shoes?

Otherwise there's Karrimor shoes £55 (incl postage) but with the holiday season not too far off, is it more frugal to wait for a better deal? I did initally purchase the Nike Pegasus 4 GTX but balked at the £80 (incl postage) and cancelled the order.

I started trail running with these Salomon Trailster 2 GTX, they were an excellent door-to-trail shoe, ideal for me as I have several km of road/paths before getting "off road". They are water-resistant rather than proof but I think that's preferable because if they are too waterproof I find my feet end up soaked in sweat.

Found them for £57 + p&p at ShoesShoes but available elsewhere too. (edited)

Tried the non-GTX version of these on and they were so narrow, really quite uncomfortable after a while. And I don't even have particularly wide feet. The Peregrine 13s felt amazing though so I forked out a bit more to go for those.
