Warning to all, the pad itself is fantastic and specs are amazing for the price, but the device is slow and full of Asus bloatware, don't buy this if you are a tinkerer or want a snappy experience. Buy if you occasionally browse and watch a lot of videos.
Nice price, it's a very good tablet for the money.
Nice screen, excellent speakers and very fast once you update and stick another launcher on it.
Nice, 2 utterly contradictory comments. Which one is real?

Well, both comments clearly state it's a great tablet and great value for money.... Both comments state that it can be slow, one comment provides a potential solution and the other doesn't, not really 'utterly contradicting' is it?
My parents have one of these each (think they got them for about £250 on offer from Currys a while back). They look really smart and worth the money.
I too wasn't impressed with the launcher - it reacts differently to some swipes and gestures. If it were mine I'd have put the Google launcher on straightaway.
Have lte version, not available in this country, unfortunately has different chipset so maybe not a direct comparison but very snappy here, even with all the bloatware, just don't activate any of it and disable as much as you can if it bothers you. I did, but it didn't actually seem to make any difference to performance. Amazing screen too. A bit pricey at 300, 250 I reckon would be about right for non lte. Solidly built and I'm very happy with mine.
Lets face it, its this or the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7".

This. I'm debating getting something to replace my Nexus 9. This is top of my list.

Same here (inlaws). Annoyed it's got up so much. Strangely, even though on same Android version, they behave differently, eg one will cast, one will not.

I went from the Nexus 9 to the Galaxy Tab S2 8" and my mother went from the Nexus 9 to the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7."

Both are a huge upgrade on the Nexus 9, (no surprise there,) but they are not blazingly fast as there price tag would indicate. On the other hand, the Tab S2 does everything at a really consistent speed and never seems to stutter or lock up. On my 8", the weight in unbelievable and on the 9.7" my mother is in love with the OLED screen. If you go for the Tab S2, I'd consider picking one up much cheaper from CeX as I paid only £190 as a B grade and its mint.

Can't comment on this Asus.
