Sky is charging extra 4£ to sky broadband and sky line rental customers since January this year for the below service
Sky Talk Evenings and Weekends Extra£4.00 .

Which was always free. This is being charged on top of your line rental. Which is around 17£.

Most of the people like me don't use land lines any more.

Sky has added this service automatically and charging 4£ since January.

Just call them and cancel this service and save 4£..

Very true. We did that last week. Sky prices are sky high this days.

they did this to me a while ago but sent a letter to tell me and I went online and changed my plan he that helps anyone !

I got a letter about this in advance......sounds like most did. Maybe you just thought it was junk mail

they are planning a line rental increase in august i think after bt in crease theres.so expect more price rises.

Sky High Price... Believe in Better... Yep go elsewhere

This isn't really a deal is it? Its a reminder for people to check their Sky bill. You could save more than £4 if you cancelled your whole Sky package

Beleive me .. virgin and sky are the most junk i get by post.. all goes in the recycle bin..

Not sure how to rate it, should be voting cold for Sky's underhand tactics! Basically they started charging for what was previously given for free (they chucked in some extras but not really that great).

Obviously by cancelling it you get no free calls at all. I got my dad to kick them to the kerb and take one of the BT deals. Might still be worth going back after the contract is done and take advantage of Sky's "intro" offers.

Don't think either company deserve our loyalty when they do things like this, better to play them at their own game.

a good reminder for everyone on sky BB/Phone.
i got MSE deal last year. everything was free except weekend calls i did not realised until they started charging me for local weekend calls. i thought that was free.
over all i can't moan too much as line rental and BB is free for a year after that i will move somewhere else.

I just called Sky to cancel this package. They eventually confirmed that the package was free but was changed in the new year. Apparently they sent out notices in October and December. I don't remember receiving either. I have now cancelled the package. My contract runs out in July and I'm switching over to the SSE fibre deal.

I had the letter in advance too. Phoned them and told them where to go, so never got charged.

Damn, missed my letter. No way to claim this back from January I suppose? Thanks anyway!

yeah try I did just that and the girl credited my account for the months I had been charged. I'll be moving away in june. fed up with increases and its gone from £40 to near on £58 over that year.

Not a deal, but thanks for the info. Very helpful

Cancelled mine prior to the changes. Junk there is but worth reading what goes through your letterbox in case changes to your service agreement or miss out dearly.

Nice, just checked online and amended the package to sky talk pay as you go, saving £4 a month as i only use the sky fibre.

The UK company is preparing to increase the price of its satellite television packages by an average of some £2 or £3 a month, starting from June 1st 2016

I've cancelled all tv with sky but they gave retention deal of free broadband provided I just keep landline. They also kept sky+ features working. Paying approx £17 a month now.

Nice one OP....wouldn't have known if not for your post

Believe in Sky charging what they want for every little thing. Get a fire stick and a good broadband connection and you can watch anything for a hellava lot cheaper.

Thanks OP

They changed the package to include calls to mobiles aswell

Not sure they are cheating since they sent our letters stating this.

If you don't follow changes to billing then your more the fool.

This wouldn't be SKY either, paying for Fibre not had been able to use it for 5 days now.... everything points to it working, but cannot browse the web (PC, Phone, Tablet, NOTHING!) or access my home cloud or anything, service is crap, just mouse pushers telling me to 'reboot' their router (even tried another!)... that's about as 'techie' as they get

I only signed up to Sky last July, and this was at that time an additional service which I didn't take, so they haven't added it to mine.

Not really a deal. I received a letter well in advance of the change and opted out straight away.
